If you had been wondering whether or not the AP Poll would recognize Alabama as this year's national champion or make a statement by keeping LSU ranked at No. 1, well, the answer is right up there for you.

Alabama is on top with LSU right behind them with Oklahoma State, Oregon and Arkansas rounding out the top five.

Also, what's really interesting about the poll aside from Alabama being on top is that Alabama got every first place vote but five. Of those five ballots that didn't put Alabama at the top, only one listed LSU. The other four had Oklahoma State.

The one voter who kept LSU at the top spot was Erik Gee, from KNML in Albuquerque, N.M.. Gee told CBSSports.com's Dennis Dodd in December that it would take "like a 63-0 pasting" by Alabama for the 39-year old radio host to change his vote after the BCS National Championship Game. He believes LSU won the right to the top spot with their performance prior to Monday's 21-0 loss to Alabama, and his final AP Poll vote reflected his firm stance on the issue.

Check out the final AP Poll of the 2011 season below:

1. Alabama (55)
2. LSU (1)
3. Oklahoma State (4)
4. Oregon
5. Arkansas
6. USC
7. Stanford
8. Boise State
9. South Carolina
10. Wisconsin
11. Michigan State
12. Michigan
13. Baylor
14. TCU
15. Kansas State
16. Oklahoma
17. West Virginia
18. Houston
19. Georgia
20. Southern Miss
21. Virginia Tech
22. Clemson
23. Florida State
24. Nebraska
25. Cincinnati

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

What happen to the old saying "Defense wins Championships!  Offense sells tickets!"  We will really never know, but I believe OK ST would have scored SOME points on BAMA.  But OK ST's defense would not have even come close to stopping T Rich.  The SEC is the best conference and the rest of the country is trying to catch up.  By the way, in '04 Mike Slive wanted a plus one type system BUT the rest of the country did not, mainly the BIG 12!!! In 1992 R. Kramer started the SEC Championship, which in effect was a playoff game, nobody recognizes that the SEC started a playoff system 20 years ago.  FINALLY 20 years later all the conferences are trying to imitate the SEC in the Championship game.  Where was this talk when the SEC was having "potentially" an elimination game for all these years!!!

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

This poll is a great example why human polls should not receive as high a percentage in the BCS formula (although it is coaches not writers poll that counts to the BCS). Seriously, USC and Wisconsin in the top 10?  Michigan and Baylor in the top 20?  And how does Virginia Tech and Clemson even making the top 25? If the BCS system survives over a 16 team play off then there needs to be some discussion on how to have the human polls be tempered with the reality of the product we call got to watch on the field (USC excluded of course).

Hey Londonhawg,

You are correct, BUT you do understand that if a rematch happened in a "finals scenario" as you put it...then the teams would have gotten there by ACCOMPLISHMENT (yes by winning games ON THE FIELD)!!!  NOT by some stupid computer and voters simply awarding and sending them there.  Huge difference dontcha think??

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

As a huge SEC fan i will admit that was the most boring game i have ever watched. It was what i thought it would be a defensive game.I do wish there was a playoff system atleast with the top 4 teams.Would of loved to seen Alabama vs Stanford, and LSU vs Okl.St.If not it would be nice seeing the plus one system and see Alabama vs Okl.St..Not going to be one of those people who is downing LSU.They had a great season by going 13-1 and beating Oregon,Alabama,Georgia and Arkansas.Just look at the final BCS standings they beat the number 1,4,5,19 ranked teams. Not many teams could of made it through that schedule with just one lost. They just ran into a team that was better then them on that day.Alabama has an amazing defense they only give uo 8 points a game and only 180 something yards a game and only gave up 9 TDs all year.To go along with one of the if not the beast running back in college football. As a Tennessee fan it makes me realize how far behind some of the SEC teams we are.

This is for Erik Gee, from KNML in Albuquerque, N.M.. ............tell us what happens when there is a playoff and an SEC team has to play another SEC team that they beat once in the regular season..........in the finals.............get a grip , what happened last night could very well happen in a playoff system.

To those who said the Razorbacks are not a top 5 team, take it up with the experts. Get ready for the SEC west again next year, there should be 3 teams in the preseason top 10, at least. Congrats to the Tide.

Four teams in the final top 10? I'm far from an SEC fan, but holy cow is that conference stacked. Good luck to Texas A&M and Mizzou next year (you're gonna need it).
