If you had been wondering whether or not the AP Poll would recognize Alabama as this year's national champion or make a statement by keeping LSU ranked at No. 1, well, the answer is right up there for you.

Alabama is on top with LSU right behind them with Oklahoma State, Oregon and Arkansas rounding out the top five.

Also, what's really interesting about the poll aside from Alabama being on top is that Alabama got every first place vote but five. Of those five ballots that didn't put Alabama at the top, only one listed LSU. The other four had Oklahoma State.

The one voter who kept LSU at the top spot was Erik Gee, from KNML in Albuquerque, N.M.. Gee told CBSSports.com's Dennis Dodd in December that it would take "like a 63-0 pasting" by Alabama for the 39-year old radio host to change his vote after the BCS National Championship Game. He believes LSU won the right to the top spot with their performance prior to Monday's 21-0 loss to Alabama, and his final AP Poll vote reflected his firm stance on the issue.

Check out the final AP Poll of the 2011 season below:

1. Alabama (55)
2. LSU (1)
3. Oklahoma State (4)
4. Oregon
5. Arkansas
6. USC
7. Stanford
8. Boise State
9. South Carolina
10. Wisconsin
11. Michigan State
12. Michigan
13. Baylor
14. TCU
15. Kansas State
16. Oklahoma
17. West Virginia
18. Houston
19. Georgia
20. Southern Miss
21. Virginia Tech
22. Clemson
23. Florida State
24. Nebraska
25. Cincinnati

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

For all of the OK State fans and fans of other conferences who are on here whining about the game, the BCS, and Bama's Championship, let me make a simple suggestion: Shut up and deal with it.

First of all, the blame is not Bama or LSU's, or the SEC or ESPN. The blame for the current system rests solely on the shoulders of the Presidents of the colleges and universities and the Commissioners of the B1G, Big XII, Big East, and PAC 12. They are the ones that refused to even consider the SEC and ACC commissioner's proposal for a Plus 1 playoff system. B1G's Delaney went so far as to say they would pull out of the BCS before they let that happen. Beebe of the Big XII was also strongly opposed to even a consideration.

Even OSU Coach Gundy, whom I respect a great deal, said that it was the system that "...our University has chosen to participate in" and that it was what they would have to live with.

So instead of getting on meaningless message boards and whining and crying about how unfair it is, perhaps all of you tortured souls should sit down and fire-off an email to the President of your favorite college, and maybe to your favorite conference's Commissioner, and ask them why they refuse to participate in a Plus 1 playoff.  Explain to them how your team got the shaft, how unfair it is, yadda-yadda. At least you would be taking a positive step instead of just looking like a sniveling fool posting on the message boards.

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

If you thought the game was boring, you really need to stop watching football. This game was far from boring. You must be a typical Alabama hater.

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

This Eric Gee goofball is just looking for some national pub and I guess he got it. There are rumors circulating that Gee is somehow related to that infamous, bow-tie wearing clown that serves as Ohio State president , but that has not been confirmed. When reached for comment in his mother's basement, Eric Gee refused to allow even the hint of possibility that LSU was not the national champ. He added, " Although LSU would never have scored even if they played until MLK Day, I am proving to the entire nation what Albuquerque has known for years." "I'm an idiot." The AP immediately stripped Gee of his vote and his radio station has granted him a leave of absence til he admits that Alabama is champs or until Jerry Sandusky is convicted; whichever comes 1st.

How can anyone could still vote LSU #1 after that game last night?Maybe the score wasn't 63-0,but it might as well have been for how dominate 'Bama was.Erik Gee should NEVER be allowed to vote in the AP poll again!!!When LSU won at Tuscaloosa they really should have lost if it wasn't for 4 missed FGs.The Superdome is NOT a neutral site if LSU is playing,it is essentially a home game for them,so LSU won at Bama by 3 in OT and Bama won at LSU 21-0 and held them to 92 yards of offense.Game over.

What most of you posting your "expert" opinions here fail to remember is this  -  Bama beat LSU everywhere but on the scoreboard the first time they played.  If not for the 4 missed field goals, Bama wins easily during regulation.  The game last night was absolute, total domination by Bama.  Did LSU have an "off-game"?  Maybe so.  Was their offense miserable?  Yes, it was  -  but that was due more to an overwhelming defense than to a 'bad' offense.  Don't like to watch REALLY GOOD defenses shut down other teams' offenses?  Then don't watch the top tier SEC teams play, because that's what's going to happen.

Oh, by the way, I detest the Crimson Tide.

I meant to say "LSU came into last nights game with a cocky and arrogant attitude (due to a classless coach) and Alabama beat the living crap out of LSU!!!!!!"

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

I am first and foremost a WVU fan (being from the great state), but retired from the military in Alabama and decided to stay there. Ive followed Alabama since the Paul "Bear" Bryant days and love these guys! With that said, Alabama beat themselves in the fist game in November, and statistically still had the better defense. LSU came into last nights game with a cocky and arrogant attitude (due to a classless coach) and beat the living crap out of LSU!!!!!!

I'm also PO'd that WVU finished #17 in the poll even after trouncing Clemson. No matter what they accomplish, WVU just can't get any respect. They are the Rodney Dangerfield of NCAA football.

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

Mike Gundy needs to stop his whining.  Oklahoma State had a great season but surrendered its chance to play in the championship game when it lost to very mediocre Iowa State.  Yes I've heard the argument that it came almost immediately after the tragedy with the women's basketball team.  I would never make light of what happened, but it didn't seem to be affecting them too much when they built a 24-7 lead against the Cyclones.

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

Alabama won the game against LSU, and was rightfully crowned the BCS champion. Are they the best team in college football. I doubt it, the AP was to chicken to vote their conscious as oppose to lining up like ducks and voting the way the BCS would want them.

The game went about the way I thought it would run, run, pass, punt. Run, run, pass and punt. Run, pass, run and kick a field goal. Then there was that one burst of explosive burst as someone decided to score a touch down. Come on 5 field goals in a championship game. Yawn II.

The game itself was extremely boring. I am glad I decided not to watch the game itself.

If you go by the body of work as everyone would want to explain LSU had a better overall record against better teams than Alabama. For those that say the season mean something then LSU would be voted #1 by the AP.

If you think the regular season mean nothing then Alabama was without a doubt the BCS champion as well as the AP champion.

No split title, Alabama No. 1 in AP Poll

The fact that LSU ends up #2 after getting blanked by 21 points tells everyone all they need to know about the BCS, the polls, and the voters. I really like college football, but this farce at season's end just has to be stopped. And please, no more talk of Les Miles. He isn't even close to being in Nick Saban's league. No, I'm not an Alabama fan. Just calling it like it is.
