The one thing that the BCS has made sure to cram down our throats every chance it gets when it comes to defending the BCS and the bowl system is that "every game counts" during college football's regular season. A stance that was proven wrong on Monday night when Alabama beat LSU in New Orleans to become the national champion and therefore confirm that LSU's win over Alabama during the regular season didn't count at all.

There's no word if the BCS plans to change its mantra to "every game counts except for the ones that sometimes don't."

Either way, Alabama fans are happy with how things turned out, and to commemorate their joy over another national championship for the Crimson Tide, they now have a shirt to remind them and everyone else which game actually counts.

Now we just it around and wait for the Oklahoma States and Boise States of the world to release a shirt that says "we won 12 games that didn't count and lost one that did."

Alabama won 'the game that counted'

Sure, Alabama's win nullifies its regular season loss to the same opponent.  Such nullifications would be commonplace in a playoff system, however.

This is why there is no reasonable argument against a playoff.

Alabama won 'the game that counted'

I've actually done a bit of an about face on this and now am an Alabama sympathyzer. I have a new appreciation for Alabama.

Everyone knows that "Every Game Counts" is the motto of the BCS. By putting out this slogan on this shirt, Alabama has given the BCS the middle finger, spit in their face and made a total mockery of the "Every Game Counts" lie that the Bull Crap System tries to shove down our throats.

Thank you Alabama for having the cajones to crap all over the BCS.

Alabama won 'the game that counted'

The Big 10 (12), Big 12 and PAC 12 run up 50 points a game against each other because their QB ain't running for his lifes. But you put them against an SEC team and they score 7, 14 or sometimes 21 points. And because we don't score 50 points a game (except for when we play outside the SEC) you claim the SEC's offenses suck. You don't like an SEC rematch, then win your games and beat us. Until then, STFU, bitch!

HA!  Quarterbacks runnin for their lives????!!!!  HA!  HA!  I remember Kellen Moore (the best qb EVER), actually laughing as he TORE APART AN SuC DEFENSE...  IN ATLANTA.   He had NO trouble whatsoever.  NONE.  The SuC is a joke and so is college football

@Jetsfan10, don't be stupid.  If the SEC won every year in a playoff format we would not be pissed.  What pisses us off is seeing 2 SEC teams in the title game (2 teams that already played eachother, no less).

Alabama won 'the game that counted'

Bama won the game that won them the championship simple as that. The flawed BCS put them in the championship and they won. Debate will go on and on that OK State should have been there but they weren't.

wonder how many players on Ok. State's defense will be playing on Sundays ? Any / one ? none / How about Bama's defense or even LSU's ? Enough said its over Bama is the NC # 14 I belive . How many does Ok. St or Oregon have ?

As a Houston Texans fan, I can attest to that. We have an Alabama defensive player on our team. Played for the 09 national champions. Kareem Jackson.

The biggest weak link on the Texans' defense. You'd think he had no clue how to defend the pass against quarterbacks capable of playing in the NFL. Like he had never seen a real QB before.

That's right, he hasn't. He faced SEC QBs his entire career.

No wonder he sucks!
