It seems Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer heard the complaints from fellow Big Ten coaches Bret Bielema and Mark Dantonio about his recruiting tactics on Thursday, and not surprisingly, he doesn't care.

According to Buckeye fansite the OZone, Meyer fired back while at the Ohio High School coaches clinic on Friday morning.

"You're pissed because we went after a committed guy? Guess what, we got 9 guys who better go do it again," said Meyer. "Do it a little harder next time."

Meyer also released a statement on Friday afternoon.

“I was pleased to take part in a productive, regularly scheduled meeting of the Big Ten Conference coaches today in Chicago," said Meyers in the release. "We had an opportunity to discuss a number of issues with each other and conference staff, including those that have arisen this week. It should be noted that my coaching staff is in full compliance with our recruiting efforts, and no one on this staff did anything illegal or unethical. We will continue to comply with NCAA rules and recruit with relentless effort, especially the great state of Ohio.

“I want to thank Commissioner Delany for his insight and leadership, and at this point we all look forward to moving past this week and getting ready for the start of spring football.”

This all started when Wisconsin's Bret Bielema and Michigan State's Mark Dantonio publicly criticized Meyer's recruiting tactics. Of the ten players that committed to Ohio State after Meyer became head coach, eight had previously committed to other schools. That includes offensive tackle Kyle Dodson (Wisconsin) and defensive end Se'Von Pittman (Michigan State).

Bielema also said on Thursday night that Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez was going to be talking to Jim Delany about Meyer's recruiting tactics. All because of a supposed "gentleman's agreement" -- an agreement that even Alvarez himself denied exists on Friday -- within the Big Ten that says coaches aren't supposed to go after another coach's commits while recruiting.

Which wasn't the way Meyer, or any coach, did things in the SEC, and it doesn't look like Urban is willing to adapt.

Honestly, if a player changes his mind just because Ohio State gets Urban Meyer, you probably don't want those guys in your program anyway. Shows a lack of maturity and commitment.

If you were watching the last minute moves by Alabama, USC and Ohio S., it just showed the bagman coming in at the last minute to

buy the day.

I thought the "Lady" in your name was just somehting catchy.  Your comments show that you really are a lady.  You really should comment on women tennis or volleyball maybe the cheerleader championships.  You know nothing about football.

thank God for Muschamp??  we'll see how much you're thanking him after another 7-6 season.  Carolina and UGA have already passed him up and Vandy's closing in..........Urban won 2 national titles when he was there, that's 2 more than Will's gonna win.

I might feel sorry for these coaches if these weren't Ohio kids. Keep the ohio products at home and we will never have to worry about beating either Michigan school again.

Urban Meyer will do anything to win...lie cheat steal sell his children.  The Big Ten better get ready for a dose of Urban Liar being around.  He recruits well for 2-3 years and then the recruit pipeline dwindles as his spread offense impact is figured out and recruits prefer to play in a Pro style offense scheme to prepare for the NFL.  He makes a big splash but soon after the ripples fade away and he moves on.  I give him 4-5 years at most with OSU.  I am a Gator fan and I saw it first hand.

Meyer also has no discipline.  This is not good for OSU athletics, which need discipline.  The player ran the team at Florida, not Meyer.  That is why we had so many arrests during his time at Florida.  As happened in his last bowl game wih Florida, the offensive line decided they had practiced hard enough the practice befoe and told Meyer they were not wearing pads fi=or the next pracice and he allowed it to happen... no discipline.  The player ran amuck at Florida while Meyer was coach.  Thank goodness for Muscg=hamp and his discipline.  Six players did not like the change and transferred.  One was thrown off the team after his second marijuana arrest.  His comment ag=fter being kicked off the team... "If Meyer was still the coac=h I would still be on the team".

Good luck Ohio State... you will need it.  Enjoy the short term success before the collapse.

Nice.  Nothing like seeing three of my least favorite teams slinging mud at each other.  Dantonio the whiner, Meyer the weazel and Beilema, well he is just goofy.  Hope this gets ugly.
