West Virginia has some new billboards

While West Virginia is making its way to a new era in the Big 12, it's not quite ready to forget about its past. Well, at least not its recent past.

If you've been cruising along any interstates near Morgantown in recent days, you may have noticed these nice reminders about West Virginia's recent success against Clemson in the Orange Bowl.

While this may seem somewhat insulting to Clemson fans, let's remember that the billboards are in West Virginia, not South Carolina. So it's not as if the Mountaineers are rubbing it in anyone's face.

Though a part of me does wonder if spending money on billboards is the best thing for a school that currently owes the Big East $20 million to do right now.

West Virginia has some new billboards

I love it ! As a Clemson fan , one who attended this game and stayed until the clock expired...i love that fans are allowed to get pumped over a landmark win. if Clemson would have been in the reverse of this score , i would support doing it in tigertown. I mean who doesnt think this is motivational or helps a little with recruiting ....dont be so sensitive average sports fans ! GO TIGERS !

West Virginia has some new billboards

I think its hilarious and back when Misery blew its load about being recruited to the Big Ten I've heard rumors and reports that the SEC was actively recruiting WVU which geographically would've made more since all things considered, then when the Big Ten pulled the rug out from Misery and took Nebraska instead and with Misery shooting itself in the foot it needed a home (because come hell or high water we all know that the Big 12 did give in everything to Misery but they still weren't happy like the disgruntled, high maintainence lover it is and they just wanted out after shooting off their mouths) and the SEC wanted to expand so it was a match of convenience really

Exactly why the ACC and SEC didn't want them
the ACC is small time in football...really small time. WVU is heading to a real conference while the ACC adds a 1-AA team and a mediocre team.

ALL schools would do this none excluded.  It is the way we are, sinners by nature and choice.  Define class.  Everyone has a different perception of what it is.

I really don't see a problem with the sign.  Both signs are in Morgantown, WV.  It's simply a way to try to sell season tickets, and maybe it leaves an impression on recruits who visit Morgantown.  It's amazing how easily people are offended today.  99.9% of people who see these signs are from WV.  Big whup!

I don't have a problem with it.  Why not celebrate such a night.  It could have been worse.  They made 70 look easy.  What an embarassment for Clemson as well as the entire ACC.
