Muschamp gets one year contract extension

Will Muschamp's first season at Florida wasn't as good as Gators fans had become accustomed to under Urban Meyer, but the Gators did finish the season with a 7-6 mark and a victory over Ohio State in the Gator Bowl. It may not have been a great season, but apparently the school saw enough to warrant giving Muschamp an extension on his contract.

The Sporting News originally reported the extension, and the school has since confirmed that it has tacked on an additional year to the five-year deal he signed last year. The sixth year doesn't include a raise on the $2.75 million salary Muschamp agreed to in his original deal, but it does mean he's going to be in Gainesville through the 2016 season.

“We’re building something long-term here,” Muschamp told The Sporting News. “We have an incredible amount of support from our administration. On a scale of 1-10, we’re an 11 right now as far as excitement about where we’re headed.”

Maybe now that Muschamp has the added year of security with the Gators he'll ponder buying Urban Meyer's old house. It's on the market and comes Florida-loaded.

Hey gatorneck! My sources in the SEC claim that you are Florida's version of good ol' Harvey Updyke.
I'm sorry.....what part of any of my comments gave you the impression I'm a redneck or anywhere nearly as obsessive as some jackass in Alabama?

Hell; Missouri was actually on the Confederate side in that little conflict that you good folks in Dixie just can't let go. You must admit you got pounded by those Yanks in that one.

YOU start spouting off about Missouri fighting on the Confederate side, and YOU call ME a neck??  Correct me if I'm wrong, but if 'we' got pounded by those Yanks, and Missouri fought on the Confederate side, wouldn't that mean YOU got pounded by 'those Yanks' as well?

Seriously bro; is this anyway to welcome a new member to your elite conference?
You're the one who came on here popping off with the following comments....

"Hey Gator Nation! Welcome to another 5 years of mediocrity and getting pummelled by those big boys of the SEC West. One positive thing though. No way any school or NFL team will try to steal this clown away from Florida. Looks like Missouri may step in and contend in the East right away."

If you want to get along with someone, don't come in spouting off about a team being mediocre and your team stepping in and taking over when your team sucks too.....jackass

Hey gatorprick! What's will all the BAAS,the HAHASS and the JAWWWWS! Don't quite get it bro!
Hey dick13.....C'mon bro......being a Mizzu fan, I'm sure you know laughter pointed in your direction when you see it.  Don't try and act like you don't.....

Though my Missouri crack was an obvious bait for all Florida homers
Bait....hell, I figured you were just showing off some of the 'really important things in life', like a fine Mizzu education!!

upon further review, all the boys from Columbia, Missou need to do do is beat either Georgia or Florida and they may indeed find themselves in Atlanta.
They may indeed.....and you may indeed wake up one day and realize it's gonna be a while till Mizzu can even begin to compete in the SEC, but I'm not holding my breathe on either....

How the hell is that going to look when 2 Big 12 defectors challenge for the sacred SEC crown
See above comments

Just because you good folks in SEC land have an abnormal passion for college football, it does not translate into having the best team in the country
Just because we love our football, and we're GREAT at it, doesn't mean it's abnormal.  Maybe if you good Mizzu fans were as passionate about your team as the SEC is about theirs, ya might be worth a shyte.  Oh, and BTW.....6 BCS NC's in a row say the SEC is the best.....jackass

SIX NC's in a row......Cannot imagine what ridiculous statements will surface when any team from some other conference finally wins one.

Also, ThiMk TwYce b4 your school claims to be academically superior to most SEC schools.

Just because you good folks in SEC land have an abnormal passion for college football, it does not translate into having the best team in the country. It just means you care way more than you should about your institution or state and less about the really important things in life.

BWAAAAHHHAAAAHHHHHAAAA!!!!!!  Man, that's a good one!!  You're a funny guy!!!

Oh wait, you were serious......

BWWWWAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHH

HHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!  That's even better!!!!

Good luck with that, let me know how that works out for you.....although when the Gators stomp a mudhole in Mizzu, I have no doubt you'll be no where to be found to admit you were WWWWAAAAYYYYYYY off.

How do you see this?  Oh that's right, you're one of those ignorant fans that bases things off one year.  How is UF gonna get pummelled by those big boys of the west when Muschamp knows how to recruit in this league? After his first year, the guy has a top 5 recruiting class.  14 out of 24 of those recuits are line of scrimmage guys, you know, those "big boys."  Nick Saban went 7-6 in his first year at Bama with a loss to LA Monroe at home and really got "pummelled by those big boys of the SEC West." ...now look at Bama...it takes time.

Muschamp gets one year contract extension

I dont see Florida having regretts over this. I am sure not a UF fan but i am a Will Muschamp fan. The school that will regrett this is Texas. Texas should have cut the most over rated and most over paid coach and given Will the Texas head coaching job betfore he took the UF job. Will is turnning Flordia into a clean program. He will not put up with the THUG action like mervin meyer did. Will has a great class coming in and already has a commit from Fred Taylors son to come in next year. Will will fight for the East in the SEC without all the Thugery and covering up for the THUG like meyer did. He will run a program that UF fans can be proud of and will still win. This is coming from a fan that has never liked UF but knows Muschamp is a winner and a class act.
