East conference playoff seed predictions 2010-11

Posted on: November 11, 2010 11:53 am

This is obviously my predictions for the playoffs for 2010-11 Eastern Conference. I'll be unbiased here as I was in the Western Conference predictions.

1.Miami Heat-The team will have the best record in the NBA whether I or anybody else likes it. The refs will lead the way for this team which is why they will make it to the Finals and lose. That is my prediction anyway. As long as they stay healthy I can't see why they won't be.

2.Boston Celtics-The reason I put them at 2 is because they have an old team. Injuries will hurt them as it always does, but with depth at the Center and power forward position I think they can at least keep this high of a seed. Figure Kg will get injured at some point during the season again.

3.Orlando Magic-The lack of consistancy has me and others wondering about the Magic. Even though the Magic have a lot of great talent and can shoot the 3 they are a bit too inconsistant for my liking which will hurt them throughout the season unless they make a trade before the deadline which I hope they do. Bring Melo to Orlando!!

4.Atlanta Hawks-They are doing pretty well thus far into the season, but they as always will fail one way or another come playoff time. A regular season team!! Prove me wrong Atlanta!

5.Chicago Bulls
-They are doing just fine thus far without their big acquistion of the off-season in Boozer. I believe they will make it to the Conference Semi's, but no farther.

6.New Jersey Nets-This is a surprise pick, but I'm basing this on believing they will end up with Melo which will lead them to the playoffs. They may be a better seed than that if they end up with Melo o. Didn't want a bunch of hooplah if you get what I'm saying.

7. Milwaukee Bucks-This team has a solid team. Probably would have went somewhere last year if it wasn't for Boguts injury, but they did beat the Hawks in game 7 to make it to the divisional rounds. They achieved more than expected. congrats to Bucks wish them the best this season as well.

8.New York Knicks-Just figure they will end up with the final spot.

East conference playoff seed predictions 2010-11

Boston - I'm gonna start with the defening eastern champs they have the winning combination to make it happen again.

Orlando - This team is very capable of making noise this year and if they are able to pull off a trade for Nash that would make them even stronger.

Miami - They will evetually get it together and start playing consistently.

Chicago - This is a young and talented team, with Boozer it only makes them tougher.

Milwaukee - I had the Hawks here but they look marginal at best and this young team has shown some grit from last season that carried over to this season, so they might suprise alot of teams and storm into the playoffs.

Indiana - Collison and Granger along with Hibbert makes them a decent team, and gives them enough to compete.

Atlanta - They slipped only because im not convinced of anything they can accomplish.

Eigth is up for grabs - NY looks like another losing season, NJ doesn't look ready yet but can creep, Detroit has got issues, Charlotte has regressed from last season.

That last playoff spot is really up for grabs but my wish would be for NY to make it and the only way they can do that is if they rid themselves of that coach.

East conference playoff seed predictions 2010-11

oh.... dumb mistake, I should know that...well, in that case, the above is their order by record.

seeding would be:

Thats posible, right.... Well, that rule really mixes the standings up....
Miami in the second round against Orlando is waaaaay harder than Atlanta or Chicago.....

The confusion has to do with how home court advantage is determined by who has the better record, not by seeding, so if you had a division with the 4 best teams in the conference in it and the 4th best team in the division had a better record than the 2nd best division winner, the seventh seed would have home court advantage, but they would still be the seventh seed.

East conference playoff seed predictions 2010-11

1. Miami... will develop chemistry and win around 62
2. Orlando... 2nd because....
3. Boston.... will relax at the end of the regular season
4. Atlanta... will never get higher, 50something wins
5. Chicago... will roll when Boozer comes back, could catch Atlanta
6. Milwaukee... very close to Chicago...
7. New York
8. New Jersey... could be higher with Melo (I also think they will get him), maybe 7th, but they would lose Devin Harris and maybe Favors, so thats a big maybe...

Your playoff positions are simply impossible.  By rules, the top 4 seeds are the three division leaders and then one other.  Last I checked Miami, Orlando and Atlanta are in the same division.
