To a woman with (in her own mind) butchered English; who communicated joy and love better than people with a lifetime of English.
To a woman who cared about strangers, friends, baseball and reaching out for no other reason than the sheer joy of making a new friend.
To a woman who was ageless
To a woman who was peerless
To a woman who was cherished
To a woman who was the consummate good sport fan; who cheered everyone's team while remaining fanatically loyal to her own
To the lover of peace
To the appreciator of conversation and a good cup of java
To the hater of conflict and enmity,
To a woman whose roots might have been post war era Germany, but whose people she counted as friends spanned the globe
To a woman who smiled though words; cheered through avs, loved through posts, and gave through her time and energy
And who, when God took her so she could cheer up heaven, still reaches down to us in her post history; as well as memories of her unquenchable spirit, her unflagging loyalty; her wonderful accented voice late night when we talked live, and her absolute youthful sense of humor; as well as the feelings, memories and kindnesses she left with all who came across her path.
A glass raised to you Trudy;
It was an honor to have known you for a friend. The world is a better place for having had you in it.

In Memorium: to MopsI've loved this old gal too...The woman was a trooper and carried burdens for years that would have bent many lesser persons. She just smiled and went about her life cheering people up.
For as long as I've posted on sportline she's always been there doing just that, making folks happy to see her... She and the Wabbit were my first favorites in the days before the B&G was started. I followed them everywhere because they were fun to chat with... Sadly I missed the chance to say goodbye to Mops... I unexpectedly lost my Libster a little over a year ago and was inconsolable for a long while. I'm not as strong as I thought Minny, certainly not as strong as Mops. I truely miss her ![]() God Bless her and those like her... |
