LSU-Alabama, the sequel

Sources tell me tonight that it's official: LSU and Alabama will meet again in New Orleans in the BCS title game.  It still remains to be seen whether or not TCU automatically qualifies for a BCS berth (I'm not optimistic).

That would put Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, against Stanford (an automatic qualifier).

The Orange will have Clemson facing West Virginia.

The Sugar will feature Michigan against Virginia Tech.

Other bowl matchups are starting to leak out as well.  Keep checking our bowl page for the latest.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

Don't watch this boring game, tamk the ratings and we are guaranteed a playoff. College football fans can do it. Then we don't have to listen to the pundits who are paid by their networks to talk up the SEC for ratings.

jeffinKC, With tjhe exception of Texas Tech, yes I think the other schools are comparable to Arkansas.  Hogs are not in play as they were downplayong Bama's win over Arkansas.  Hogs would roll Texas quit playing us too, Mizzou and K State.  We may get K Stae so that aregument is on the horizon.

Issue tonight is who you LOST too.   Hogs did not lose to A&M and Bama did not lose to Hogs but OSU did lose to Iowa Stae whern they were favored by 27 points.

Case Closed on the team with the #103 ranked defense out of 120 schools. 5 years in row some other conference loss the NC game, look at like this, now that stream will be broken.

Interesting take, HogAuthority, but that completely negates  the entire justification for the BCS, that "Every game counts", because that makes it so that the ONLY TWO games that apparently counted to the poll voters were the two losses. if you focus solely on the loss by each team, then you are ignoring the rest of the season.

Basically, the poll voters that regularly found excuses to put Boise State lower in their poll because of playing a statistically weaker schedule used a double standard with OSU and Alabama, because using the logic that they use to dismiss Bosie State, they SHOULD have dismissed Bama.  OSU has beaten more teams in the top 25 of every poll, has beaten more bowl eligible teams, has beaten more teams with winning records, has had an overall better Susan.

Voters actually wanted OSU vs LSU, but they had to overcome too big a defecit in order for it to happen.

That's some bull. If they wanted it so bad, why was OSU behind VaTech and Stanford going into this weekend? If they wanted it, they would have put them at #3 so then some of them could actually justify moving them to #2 with a win.

And all Alabama had to do was beat LSU...no, wait, they didn't have to.  But at least they played 2 fewer games (and therefore had a worse record) and rolled over those powerhouses Kent State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern.  Lets face it, the only reason they are going is because they started the season ranked high.  I am looking forward to not watching a team that couldn't win its own division, let alone its own conference.

So that explains why Alabama was ranked ahead of OSU in the Coach's and Harris Polls

So Alabama gets the number 2 spot even though Oklahoma State had more wins against ranked teams...The fix was in long ago...Might as well call this the SEC Championship every year because no matter what happens, the SEC teams will always get the nod due to playing in the SEC...There are some pretty bad teams in the SEC too, so it's not like the whole conference is amazing...Without some kind of a playoff, this biased nonsense will always continue...Also, does anyone think West Virginia deserves a BCS spot, just like UConn and other Big East teams in recent years?? The BCS system is absolutely foolish and corrupt.

You know it really is something to read the negative comments against BAMA! They do deserve to be in the game!!! They have played very well in all of their games, yes the LSU game was not their best game but at least BAMA held them to a score of only 9 points!!! I don't believe that the BCS is corrupt at all. My hat is off to the BCS for having common sense and voting for BAMA to be in the National Championship game!!!! Oh and ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!! GO BAMA!!!!!!
