Sources tell me tonight that it's official: LSU and Alabama will meet again in New Orleans in the BCS title game.  It still remains to be seen whether or not TCU automatically qualifies for a BCS berth (I'm not optimistic).

That would put Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, against Stanford (an automatic qualifier).

The Orange will have Clemson facing West Virginia.

The Sugar will feature Michigan against Virginia Tech.

Other bowl matchups are starting to leak out as well.  Keep checking our bowl page for the latest.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

The best playoff system would take the champions of the BIG10, SEC, PAC12, BIG12, ACC, and the next 11 highest rated teams based on the average ranking of the AP & Coaches poll with the coaches poll being the tie breaker.  Screw the computer generated strength of schedule, etc.  That's already accounted for in the 2 polls.  Play 8 bowl games the week before Christmas.  Let the bowls sign up for them.  Then with 8 teams left play 4 bowl games on New Years weekend.  Those would be the ROSE, SUGAR, ORANGE & FIESTA.  Then would be playoffs but not bowls, semi-finals on the same weekend as the NFL conference championship weekend and the national championship the next weekend when the NFL is idle.  The bowls would be fit into the brackets not the other way around.  If your bowl isn't one of the 12 then you choose teams who are not in the playoffs.  Dump the BCS and FBS.  Let the NCAA run it.  They're supposed to be in charge of college sports, right?  Until there is a playoff system, I refuse to call it a national championship.  It's the ESPN championship.  They're picking them now just like the meddled in the ACC and BIG EAST situation.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

I won't bother watching it.  LSU already beat Alabama.  If 'Bama wins this, it doesn't prove they are champs.  They'll have to do 'best of three' to prove that.  The final should be between two conference champs who have yet to play one another.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

If I didn't have so many stinkin nephews all over the place I could blow it off and not give a damn.  Unfortunately, I do.  I would love to sit on my butt and just say, yep.. You won this year but OU still has you whipped in national championship titles.  What is sad about me, is that this is OSU i'm upset about and they kicked my teams ass.  However, I just want everyone to have a fair shake.  One of my best buddies, I have yet to talk to him.  He's a tide fan, but I have yet to get his take on all this.  His sister is a Poke and as you know I am a gooner.

What is upsetting to me is that:

1. Their is not a playoff system.  At least for a final four or even final top 8.. top eight means 2 more games, top 4 means 1 more game.

2. Computers should not be allowed to dictate anything, record should.

3. Strength of Schedule would not exist if we allowed the top two of all coferences into a playoff system.  That would require more than a top eight.. (I know)

4. Let some of the little guy conferences into the playoffs.. their Champ gets to play a big dog.  If they get beat, then that is it.

This is an easy fix.. like Boise state, sure they probably get a shot every year and get beat down against a top team.  So, that top team moves on.. they still would face two more teams.  At the end of the day they still face an OU/OSU/LSU/BAMA/Florida/Auburn/Mizz

ou/Mich/USC/etc... Still have to get through them.

Just my take

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

I am like my son (or maybe he's like me - heaven forbid), but if you'll listen to this song, we can find some common ground.  You either read or were read Goodnigt Moon.  And though I have no relationship with this band, it can solve our differences.  Young men, play this for your ladies and tell them you were thinking about them, and you will SCORE (in a good, southern way - only kissing and stuff).

We know it is what it is, so let's just accept it:

My other two sons said "kiss it" and we should listen to Disturbed.

Another "test" that doesn't have much to do with football (or the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, ACC, Pac 10,...).

If you want it all to end and get to a playoff, join me.  UNOCCUPY the BcS!  I will watch my Badgers and that's all.  When nobody but the two teams fans watch, the system will change.  Not before.

Clearly, the BCS didn`t want that high powered Oklahoma St. Offense run all over their precious sec team.

Man, I understand.  College football is emotional.  The system sucks, but it really is all about the money.
