LSU-Alabama, the sequel

Sources tell me tonight that it's official: LSU and Alabama will meet again in New Orleans in the BCS title game.  It still remains to be seen whether or not TCU automatically qualifies for a BCS berth (I'm not optimistic).

That would put Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, against Stanford (an automatic qualifier).

The Orange will have Clemson facing West Virginia.

The Sugar will feature Michigan against Virginia Tech.

Other bowl matchups are starting to leak out as well.  Keep checking our bowl page for the latest.

Actually if you measure by points allowed by possession OSU Defense is second only to LSU...Though OSU's supposed high power offense is ranked below LSU's offense based on the same mode of analysis.  Probably a much more measurement of effecitiveness as it measures overall performance based on amount of time active.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

You know all this talk about these are the best two teams please explain how. Alabama lost at home to LSU and is technically the 3rd best team in the SEC. Same arguement back in 2006 with Mich and OSU. They didn't get the rematch and we found out that hey florida was the best team. WHERE IS THE LOGIC??? Oklahoma State at least won their damn conference and best the second best team convincingly! Nick Saban is freaking hypocrite. He is a great coach but absolute hypocrite. He said it himself A team that has not won their conference should not play for the National Title! He said that in 2006! BCS just makes me sick. They had their shot just like Michigan so Alabama had theirs!! Doesn't make any sense.

TrojanFaithful...I admit there may be some bias toward the SEC and its about damn time.  As I grew up in the 70's and 80's it was always about USC, OK, Neb and the Big Ten.  As for getting together and having your own bowl, whats the Rose Bowl been since 1947?  A boring matchup between two conferences staging the "Granddaddy" of them all.  As if winning that game alone put a team in line to be the national champs.  At least the SEC earned it's bias.  The SEC has won 7 of 13 BCS championships without a loss.  Just be thankful USC got to play OU instead of Auburn on '04 (and be thankful someone shelled out 300k for R. Bush)

Oklahoma State lost to Iowa State. End of story. Don't give this tragedy bullshit story either because they were up by something like 3 touchdowns at one point. They choked. Game over. They blew it. They knew at that point that all they had to was win and they blew it. Move on OSU homers.

Am I the only one surprised this happened knowing how much money Mr Pickens has? Learn to lobby better...if you have the richest person in college football behind you and you still lose...you didn't do a good job making your arguement.

Jerry you ae soooo full of bcs it's as pathetic as the little joke i just told...I'm a big 10 fan and believe that Ok. St. would probably beat alabama and lsu...they have a great offense that would give either team a run for there money...but until the bcs is gone and they HOPEFULLY  go to a palyoff. we'll never know...I also believe the Sec has a bunch of overrated teams and the voters are so engulfed in the media and won't look for themselves.  I also believe a Boise St. that crushed Ga. would be a great game against bama or lsu.
And you would be lying to yourself. Oklahoma State has 0 defense. They gave up 30+ to the likes of Louisiana-Lafayette, Tulsa, and Iowa State. Do you really think they could stop the likes of LSU or Bama? Sure, they might actually score a few points, but OSU would be behind by so much, that it wouldn't matter.

lol this is just ridiculous. As one of only two BCS conferences to play a full round-robin schedule this year, the B12 has a very clear championship picture this year. Fact is, Bama did not even play 2 of other 4 "best teams" in the SEC, so how can anyone claim that they are the 2nd best team in their conference, let alone in the nation?

Bama played a GRAND TOTAL of 4 teams from DIA/FBS with winning records and lost one of those games.  Oklahoma State played NINE (and I will say it again NINE) bowl-eligible teams and won 8 of those games.

Anyone who isn't wearing SEC-issued blinders can see that Oklahoma State had a far superior season to Bama and is far more deserving of a national championship game bid.
