LSU-Alabama, the sequel

Sources tell me tonight that it's official: LSU and Alabama will meet again in New Orleans in the BCS title game.  It still remains to be seen whether or not TCU automatically qualifies for a BCS berth (I'm not optimistic).

That would put Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl, against Stanford (an automatic qualifier).

The Orange will have Clemson facing West Virginia.

The Sugar will feature Michigan against Virginia Tech.

Other bowl matchups are starting to leak out as well.  Keep checking our bowl page for the latest.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

This game will been the least watched NCG EVER!!!!  The stadium may get sold out with all of the SEC retards out there who want to watch another snooze fest, but the t.v. ratings will be horrible and it's f.u.c.k.i.n.g. hilarious.  There is no proof anywhere that Bama is better than Oklahoma State.  Bama's schedule was pitiful this year.  1 loss to LSU, 1 win against an overrated Arkansas, 1 win against Penn State, 3 wins against horrible SEC west competition with horrible records to prove it, and 3 wins against North Texas, Georgia Southern, and North Texas.  What a brutal schedule that it.  I can see why they had to schedule so miserablly OOC.  How many teams that Bama beat are ranked right now compared to Ok-State??  The SEC idiots will only have themselves to talk to after the game because no one else will know what happened because no one with half a brain would watch Alabama undeservingly play in the NCG.  Bama didn't earn shit this year.

Kills my appetite

If you told me the BCS would eventually kill my appetite for College Football I wouldn't have believed you. But now, this travesty called a rematch makes me sick at my stomach. The BCS will rue the day they put in place a system that gives us LSU-Alabama. Excuse me while I puke.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

The BCS got it right, if this is indeed true.  OK St. has a very good team, but LSU and Alabama are both GREAT teams.  Yes, Alabama has had one shot at LSU already, but that game was so close as to basically render it a draw.  OK St. lost to a 6-6 team.  They had their destiny in their own hands, and they blew it.  If Bama had beaten LSU in the first matchup, then this would still be the correct Nat'l Championship game.  LSU and Alabama are the 2 best teams in the country.  Live with it.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

JeffinKC - The Big 12(8) and SEC have both been in the BCS NC game 7 times. SEC is 7-0, Big 12 is 2-5. And against each other, the SEC is 2-0 over the Big 12. The Big 12 is hardly superior to anyone, let alone the SEC.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

By the same coin it was the SEC in 2006 who avidly campaigned against an Ohio St/Michigan rematch and got the voters to put Florida ahead of Michigan and into the #2 spot.  The Big 12 wasn't the only conference against a playoff, the Big 10 and Pac 10 have always been vehement against it.  I wonder if the shoe were on the other foot and OU/OSU were the undefeated/1 loss team and bama or LSU was on the outside looking in if you guys would be singing the same song. My guess is no.

Jerry you ae soooo full of bcs it's as pathetic as the little joke i just told...I'm a big 10 fan and believe that Ok. St. would probably beat alabama and lsu...they have a great offense that would give either team a run for there money...but until the bcs is gone and they HOPEFULLY  go to a palyoff. we'll never know...I also believe the Sec has a bunch of overrated teams and the voters are so engulfed in the media and won't look for themselves.  I also believe a Boise St. that crushed Ga. would be a great game against bama or lsu.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

You have to ask why the Big 12 said no to a final 4 three years ago when commissioner Slive of the SEC submitted the proposal for discussion. They were not alone, the PAC 10 (then) and Big 10 all said no. We need a playoff, no question, but until there is more parity in college football the result will be worse than we have now. The SEC has the best coaches, the best players and the best venues, today. This will change, but it will take USC, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida State to stop accepting mediocrity.

LSU-Alabama, the sequel

Statistically, the B12 is the #1 conference in the nation.

OSU has played a far more difficult schedule than Bama and has much better wins.

It's funny, the excuses that the SEC used to use to try to claim they deserved to have a team in the mythical national championship race are the exact excuses they are now poo-pooing as "whining".

Fact is, the SEC is NOT the toughest conference in the nation this year, no matter how many times the SEC PR office convinces the talking heads to claim that they are.     &
nbsp;

The B12 had a grand total of one "gimme"  team, compared to three or four in the SEC.

Shoot, most of the computers (that ignore names and popular hype/preseason bias) have the second WORST eam in the B12 ranked higher than 28 other teams in BCS AQ conferences, including 4 SEC teams.  The depth and quality of the B12 is just ridiculous, compared to the rest of the conferences.
