Final 1-120

The final 1-120 ranking is posted.  Guess someone forgot to tell the computer that they gave away a crystal football Monday night.  Oklahoma State is the top rated team in the final rankings.  Maybe we can send them a football made of computer chips.

The rankings don't care about trophies.  It's based on strength of schedule and a how a team performed against that schedule.  Bowl games get no special weighting.  In fact, bowl games are so much like exhibition games that if anything, they should be weighed less.

The Cowboys benefitted from a schedule that only had three opponents not play in the post season.  It also helped that they often won big, because margin of victory is a factor (to a point).  They also didn't play any FCS teams.

LSU stays ahead of Alabama, and that is also based on a stronger schedule over the full season than Alabama did.  Head-to-head gets no special treatment in the ratings, although they split two games, with LSU winning on the road and Bama winning on a neutralish field.

I'm sure Alabama will shed no tears after finishing third in these ratings.  They went home with the trophy.  So, Roll Tide, y'all.

Yep I am tired of the football fans that is bored with  run, run, pass, punt. Run, run, pass, punt. Pass, pass, run, punt.  Run, run, pass, FG.

Pass, run, run, punt. Run, run, pass, punt. Run, run, pass, punt. Run, Pass, pass, FG.

Sort of boring it would seem as if one team is playing no offense at all. This is not good defense this is lack of an offense. The other part of football is called offense. Neither team had none.

Playing half a football game is boring. It would be like a team scoring 120 pints, guess what there was no defense, this game would be boring also.

I would be glad when football fans would understand that there are two phases of a football game. One is called offense and the other is defense. When one is lopsided the game is “BORING”.

It is sort of good when a team is able to at least run or pass for a touchdown in the game.

The Game of The Century score was 9-6. 5 field goals No offense what so ever. Then someone actually suggested that they play a Came of The Century II.

What was really bad they actually scheduled the game and expected real football fans to buy into this yawner once again. It just goes to prove how little the sports talking heads along with the sports network think of the average fan.

Guess what The Game of The Century II was pretty much the same no offense at all from either team. What was the game scoring like 5 field goals. Someone finally figured that it was not illegal to score a touchdown.

I agree Alabama completely dominated the teams they played. Of course when you only have three teams that is capable of beating your team you would tend to dominate. Especially when your out of conference schedule include cup cakes such as Kent State, Georgia Southern, And North Texas. Then you play your powerful in conference schedule consisting of Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Tennessee, Mississippi State and Auburn, who lost their pro QB last season to the NFL where he could legally earn money for playing football.

With this schedule anyone could dominate. What a powerhouse schedule.

I am willing to bet the players at Alabama was shaking in their cleats when they found out the schedule they had.

Final 1-120

ummmm.... BIG ISU fan here. A loss to ISU is not the same as a loss to LSU. They make count the same on the W/L total, but they are not the same. Bama's loss to LSU at home was about as big of a fluke, though (as evident by the pounding in the NC game). If OSU played ISU tens more times this year, I'd wager that OSU wins most if not all.  These ratings don't mean anything anyway. Teams just need to win all of their games next year and nobody can argue which loss is worse.

OK...You think a loss to Iowa State and a loss to LSU "cancel out?" Also, do we give Arkansas a break because they lost to LSU right after a PLAYER died? Not coaches of the women's basketball team, who I guarantee you a week before few OSU players could have even named, but a player. So, Arkansas lost 2 games. Do we put them behind, say, Oklahoma, who also only lost 2 games? Do OK and AR's losses "cancel out?" No.

@brianc.....What a fucking homer. So you are upset that OSU had a great season and likely got it's first and last shot at a national championship for quite some time. Boo Hoo. I don't give a damn how you try to slice it, but losing to Iowa State IS a huge deal. And while schmucks like you are entertained by the TD per minute games that are essentially equivalent to a flag football game, there are still a few people that enjoy defense and teams that have the ability to actually make a fucking tackle. I would love to see that pussy of team play either LSU or Bama, if for no other reason than to shut whiney bitches like you up.

Final 1-120

How about you post the algorithms, equations, etc. used to determine SOS and the 120 rankings? Withholding that, we can not begin to comprehend this mish-mosh of results.

Wisconsin 11-3, 7-2, lost to Oregon, ranked 10 & 11 in the polls, with a SOS of 53 is ranked No. 15
Michigan State 11-3, 7-2, beat Georgia, ranked 10 & 11 in the polls, with a SOS of 51 is ranked No. 21?

MSU is ranked below 8-5 Texas?

What a waste of electrons.
