Hudson only gets one shining moment

Apparently Jennifer Hudson is one and done.

After using Luther Vandross’ version of the song from 2003-09, CBS went a different direction for last year’s NCAA tournament.

The network played Hudson’s version at the end of last season’s NCAA tournament, but it received lukewarm – and sometimes worse – reviews. One of the primary complaints was that the three-minute montage used clips of Hudson singing in the studio, something that was a drastic change from Vandross. Overall, it focused less on the highlights and had more bells and whistles than previous versions.

CBS will avoid the possibility of more negative feedback this season – it is going back to using Vandross’ version.

“Both versions are great,” said Harold Bryant, CBS Sports’ vice president for production. “She did a great job. We just felt like we wanted to go back to Luther.”

2011 will mark the 25th anniversary of the network playing “One Shining Moment” as the official end to the college basketball season.

Hudson only gets one shining moment

Hey Sheguy; why do you turn this site into your very own Entertainment Tonight? If I wanted to hear about a lot of Hollywood has-beens and wanna-bes, I'll ask the Mrs. for the inside scoop. Dude, get a grip on yourself soon or there may be a Man Card violation.

"C-list star"?  Really?  I'm not a fan of her's, and much prefer the original version (if I have to choose any, that is...  The Christian rock band version on xbox NCAA Tourney that you had to listen to everytime killed this song for me a long time ago)...  But Jennifer Hudson is pretty world class.  And how many C-list performers have won an Oscar?  That's about as "A" list as you can get..."

It must not take much to impress you. You think Jennifer Hudson is an A- List star?? Then what is a real A-List star like Denzel, Will Smith, George Clooney?? Come on.. Jennifer Hudson has done very little for a 5+ year career so far.. Just about the best thing she has done is lose weight. And whether she did that with hard work or surgery is up for debate.. Come on, man.. She won an Oscar.. Ok, for doing what?? She played an overweight singer who sings better than she looks.. ISN'T THAT WHAT SHE IS?? Or was, since she's lost weight. She "acted" so well as a singer, that she won an award. OK.. Whats next?? Are we going to make a movie about a baseball player, starring A-Rod, then give him the Oscar cause he swings the bat like a real baseball player in the movie??

Come on, fact is she hasn't had a lead in a successful movie since winning the Oscar. He albums have been average to above average, at best, NOT great, both record sale wise and hit songs wise. She acts like she's too good for American Idol, when didn't even win the thing. And she turned a personal invite to sing at the 1st Black President's inaguration, only to sing the Star Bangled Banner at the Superbowl a couple weeks later.. For someone who started off with an Oscar and hit remake single of a song, her career has been a disappointment.

Pimpy; you're the dude that stated your intentions of inflicting physical punishment on Rome. By the way; he has been called the "Pimp in the Box"  many times on his radio show and I find it interesting that your user name is suspiciously similar. Also; I'm not sure what you are trying to convey with that last sentence of yours but you really do need to get hold of that temper before you do something you'll regret.

If you need to "beat the shit out of him", simply show up @ Delmar or Santa Anita after one of his horses wins and do your Jim Everett imitation
Or maybe in the parking lot after school? Are you his agent? I think I clearly stated my feelings of contempt for him without any reservations. I don't believe I need to listen to your internet anger management attempts as well. The chances of me running across Jim Rome anywhere are about the same as me winning the lottery unless I was looking for him. All the same, I would still want to beat like the tool he is.

My favoritie version was the one before Luther Vandross, and before Teddy Pendergrass. I can't remember who the group or individual was, but the song was purer without a lot of personal ad libs. Does anyone know what sang that one?

Hey Mr.pompslopped; let the CBS Sportsnation know how you really feel about the great Jim Rome. Explain how you came up with your blog name and tell us all that Jim was NOT influential in your choice. Dude; I'm not a Rome guy, but your unique manner in describing Jimbo displayed an unusual measure of hatred. If you need to "beat the shit out of him", simply show up @ Delmar or Santa Anita after one of his horses wins and do your Jim Everett imitation. Seriously Pimpy; try to chill out a bit my man.
