While Mark Turgeon may have won his first press conference at Maryland, he continues to lose recruits.

First, CBSSports.com broke the news that transfer Wally Judge chose Rutgers over Maryland. Then, Sterling Gibbs and Nick Faust received releases from their letters of intent, and now the third member of the incoming class is on the verge of asking out as well.

Martin Breunig, a 6-foot-9 Germany native who plays at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy (Wisc.), plans on reopening his recruitment, sources told CBSSports.com.

“Nothing firm,” one source said in terms of new schools reaching out. “Still a pretty fluid situation.”

When Gary Williams first announced his retirement from Maryland, SJNMA assistant coach Martin Esters said Breunig wouldn’t make a decision until a new head coach was named.

“Williams is obviously a big part of Maryland, but right now we have to wait and see what happens there,” Esters told CBSSports.com at the time. “We can just be patient now.”

When Breunig first committed to the Terrapins, he was also being pursued by Virginia, Saint Louis, Arizona State, Oregon State, UAB and others.

Third Maryland signee on verge of release

It should not be a surprise that another Maryland signee is leaving the run down program of Maryland to go to at least a much better school then they thought they were at by far.

I live in a suburb of Memphis and quite naturally I am a Memphis Tiger fan.  But I love Maryland and have for a long time.  I remember Lefty Driesel, Len Bias. Len Elmore and always followed the Terps.  They will be fine.  The name Maryland will get the recruits.  Look no further than Butler to see it's not just the big names that forge a great team.  Go Terps!

Williams did the program no favors with his late retirement decision. Liked Gary, a good friend of Jimmy B of SU, but this class is disintegrating very quickly. Turgeon is having to scarmble right out of the chute..............................

The Terps will rise again. We may have to go through a period of adjustment, but we won't be down long...never are. Funny how a fan of 'Cuse, who only have 1 Natty themselves (due to a 1- and - done Carmelo, just the type of "hired gun" Maryland doesn't take), would disparage a coach, Turgeon, who's proven to be of the same ilk as Gary Williams: uncompromising to student-athletes "handlers" and AAU "coaches". The Terps may indeed be outmanned in the near future, but we will not be outplayed or outcoached.&
nbsp; When, not if, the paper trail of the manilla envelope stuffed with cash that was given to 'Melo's cousin/uncle/coach/handler comes to light, you and your "Hey, Cool-Aid" looking mascot can join your Big East Uconn brethren in the Hall Of Shame. FEAR THE TURTLE!!!

Bruce Pearl "ethically challenged"

I have absolutely no inside information, but I'm betting Bruce Pearl is going to get a "show cause" scarlet letter pinned on him by the NCAA. If Maryland wanted to/tried to hire Pearl, I'm pretty sure the NCAA would have made it very clear that Pearl coaching at a high profile school in the next couple of years is not going to be allowed to happen. Yes, Pearl would light up the Maryland fan base if he were available, but I believe his next coaching stop is an NBA staff.

Maryland will be fine.  Turgeon is a great coach and Maryland fans should be happy to have him.  Not sure if they will like the fact that he was an assistant under UNC's Larry Brown and Roy Williams while at Kansas.  I wouldn't care as long as he won games.  I agree with another comment, that if the players aren't committed to Maryland then let them walk.  This will just speed up the process of Turgeon getting "his" players in there. The ACC has a lot of new faces as far as coaches go and I'm hoping this fresh wave will elevate the ACC back to the top of college basketball again.  Most ACC schools lose their guys to the draft early and if the NBA can adopt a rule like the MLB it will help colleges and the NBA.

Maryland will never be "Maryland" again with this idiot as head coach now. He'll justbe a younger version of Gary Williams again, except without the final four apperances and NC.
