Kentucky will announce on Monday that John Calipari's contract has increased in value over the terms of his initial deal and been extended by two years, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Sunday.

Calipari's intial contract with UK was for eight years and nearly $32 million.

The Wildcats are 64-12 in two seasons under Calipari.

They made the Elite Eight in 2010 and the Final Four in 2011.

They'll be ranked No. 2 in the CBSSports.com preseason Top 25 (and one).

NOBODY'S GETTIN MY LUNCH! Yell

Calipari has never been found guilty of ANY NCAA violations whatsoever!  And I will continue to defend him even after he leaves Kentucky in the wake of a vacated final four. Surprised

Well I see hypocrisy is alive and well here on CBS sports. Great post and many great points on the matter twocoach. Also I'd like to point out that as much money as Kentucky spends on it's basketball coach to those that are curious that if you did a little research you'd find that they University of Kentucky spends far less than most of the other SEC schools on coaches/athletics.

Also to the confused and conflicted Notre Dame fan lol.....Read much? Pete Carroll coached at USC man. Not Ohio St. That's Jim Tressel.

And for all of our loyal and dedicated haters out there we'll cross that bridge when we get to it and then you all can sit back and smile and say I told you so. Until then you need to call Miss Cleo and ask for a refund cause she lied to you.

ankrmn,

"I love the ky wildcats and college basketball but money in all sports has gotten way out of hand, including golf, baseball,NBA, ect. "

Come on. If you were one of the 10 best people in the nation at a job that produced mega revenue, YOU would be expecting to get paid market value as well. Don't give me this BS about "times are tough". Go put in the work to be one of the best at YOUR professional and times will most likely not be tough for you any more.

The 10 best doctors and the 10 best stock brokers and the 10 best lawyers etc... are all making a LOT more than Calipari will make next year.

"I'm glad that my Ky wildcats can afford to pay to keep him, I just wish the country would put that much attention into fixing things that really matter, like the lives of those around us less fortunate that could use the help."

I assure you that more of Calipari's money goes to charity to help those less fortunate than the average 1000 people combined give to charity.

"At least the PBA still operate at poverty level. "

That's because they don't generate any money, or maybe I missed the multibillion dollar tv contract for THEIR end of year tourney. Do they even HAVE an EOY tourney. Since I even have to ask that question provides the reason why PBA bowlers aren't paid better and why Calipari and other elite athletes and coaches are well worth the money he is paid. As they say, "You gotta spend money to make money."

When will the NCAA violations start rolling out of Kentucky?  He has two more years to leave his mark.

And THIS, gentlemen, is what we call an original comment. Notice how nobody has ever heard THIS one before now. I must give the poster, who has a reputation of ZERO, high marks. He obviously created his account today just so he could post this comment. He obviously spent all day and night yesterday at his "special school" thinking this one up. Heck, he probably almost forgot it when the short bus hit a speed bump, causing him to fall out of his seat and bump his little noggin.

I 'Don't need to hold my breath, It's KY, they always find a WAY TO GET IT DONE. Why sit and worry about what could happen in the future. We as fans have absolutely no control over what a University does,Why do you UK haters let UK eat your lunch? I would think the energy that you exert at hating UK could go a long way in supporting the university of your choice. I Enjoy watching UK play basketball and I really get a kick out of the fact that a winning university can make so many people miserable. I keep hearing about Calipari's  cheating but no one can show any evidence that he was involved in anything. Innocent until proven guilty. Just keep letting the kid next to you eat your lunch and be mad cause I think its hilarious.
