Kentucky will announce on Monday that John Calipari's contract has increased in value over the terms of his initial deal and been extended by two years, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Sunday.

Calipari's intial contract with UK was for eight years and nearly $32 million.

The Wildcats are 64-12 in two seasons under Calipari.

They made the Elite Eight in 2010 and the Final Four in 2011.

They'll be ranked No. 2 in the CBSSports.com preseason Top 25 (and one).

He'll just have more money to store up for his next job after KY gets put on probation. Calipari is slicker than a politician running for re-election and more corrupt than Sonny Vaccaro and his Nike cohorts.

KY fans love him now that he's winning. However, when his past and his practices catch up with him, he will be vilified in Lexington.

Just another "well thought, fact filled" rant by another moron.

Ankrmn- I very thoughtful and truthful post.  I agree with you about the money being thrown around for coaches, pro players.  The rich get richer and the poor well....  How much longer can the middle class last.  Being squeezed and squeezed.  Something has to give soooner or later.

I'm bleed as blue as it gets. I love that the cats are back in the spot light. I am truely disgrunted over the amount of money that can be generated to pay one one man. With family's struggling to pay utility bills, a University can pay 31 million dollars over a 10 year period? Its really sad that it has come to this. Don't get me wrong, to win these days you need a coach of that caliper, and it will cost you to get one. Thats the sad part, it will cost you that much to get one. I'm glad that my Ky wildcats can afford to pay to keep him, I just wish the country would put that much attention into fixing things that really matter, like the lives of those around us less fortunate that could use the help. I love the ky wildcats and college basketball but money in all sports has gotten way out of hand, including golf, baseball,NBA, ect. At least the PBA still operate at poverty level. It makes me wonder if the money for a top coaching job is that good, no wonder coaches are cheating to boost their bottom line. We could all live a premium life style with that kind of jack!

OMG UK envy has become a pandemic!  What's wrong guys.  3 straight #1 recruiting classes in a row got you down?  Or is it that you just know that soon the Cats will be bringing home the hardware?  Or is it both and more?   It can't be UK.  They've already won more titles than anyone who didn't cheat like crazy.  And that's not "they're gonna catch him" stuff.  That's iron clad, eventually the NCAA did acknowledge the travesty but did nothing about it, testimony of dozens of ex-players fact.  Yes it's UK that's the real leader in championships because UCLA should have had 10 of theirs voided.  Just thought I'd give you yet another reason to hate the Cats.  Not that you really need one.  You're jealous enough already.  Most fans by far, most wins, best winning percentage of any coach with at least 850 wins (won during an era where 25 games was the norm instead of 35), most national titles (if you throw out all the ones UCLA got by cheating like crazy which should be done), best coach, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc......  Here Rover.  Roll in it.  Now eat it boy!  Good dog!  Now who's a happy hater puppy?  Don't worry.  You'll catach up - in about 200 years - maybe.

UK fan68 your on a roll buddy.Glad im on your side lol

68 has a bit of a silver tongue, doesn't he.  Myself, I am the complete opposite.  I couldn't convince a person dying of thrist, to take a drink of water.

Alas, I have to try and give my 2 cents worth, or it is probably 5 cents or 10 cents by now.

When Coach Cal came to UK, I had my doubts during that first year.  I honestly believed that UK should have lasted longer in the NCAA tournament and got wacked by WV(I believe).  I kept debating whether the players choked or bad coaching or bad shooting.  Folks like me are still discussing the problem.

Then this year, and far as I am concerned they played their hearts out and I became a Coach Cal believer.  Believe me I was a doubter before that, as some fans can remember.

Has Coach Cal did anything wrong in his past.  Like all coaches at major colleges he probably has did some things incorrectly or wrong.  But probably no more than a bunch of other coaches in the ACC,SEC.Big East, etc.  Did that make it right?  I am not saying that.   That is for the NCAA to decide.

Some folks are negative on Coach Cal for various reasons.  They could be jealously, just don't like him, or just don't like UK.

Will the NCAA ever accuse Cal of breaking the rules while he is at UK?  That seems to be the question of most of his accusers.  Sorry you accusers or I haven't acquired the give of telling the future.  If I could, you would find me at Churchill Down or Keeneland(hell I hope I spelled that correctly or my name will be mud)in the $100 line making a bet on the next long shot.

Well everyone have fun discussing this.  To me it is amusing to read some of the posts.  Maybe more amusing than the comics.
