I watched Nerlens Noel several times at the Nike Peach Jam a few weeks back and have no problem with the recruiting analysts who call him the best high school shotblocker they've ever seen. He's awesome. I love him. Just a unique talent capable of swatting anything and everything.

Except Shaquille Cleare, I guess.

"Nice look for Cleare ... and the dunk and the foul!" said the announcer broadcasting from the AAU Nationals at Walt Disney World on Wednesday night when Cleare took a pass and dunked on the nation's best shotblocker. "Going at Nerlens Noel!"

You can see the highlight at this link (courtesy of Rob Dauster). It's worth checking out ... if only because Noel might set a record for blocks by a freshman when he plays college basketball in the 2013-14 season.

Got Dunked on?  Oh Please! It wasn't that at all. Defintion: Getting dunked on = defender is between the ball and basket, the offensive players powers above and dunks over the defender.  This is clearly is where the offensive player on the baseline got a pass from a teammate and the questioned defender played in between two offensive player (as he is suppose to in this situation) and tried to recover the "backdoor" play.

I wouldn't call that Noel getting dunked on.  Maybe getting beat on the cut baseline, but Noel had to come back down the lane to even get as close as he did.  At best, it was Noel's arm getting dunked on.  If he had been in position Cleare would have imprints of the ball on his forehead.

Totally Agree.   The action of getting "dunked on" is used far too liberally anymore.   Noel was not in good position to deny the attempt nor was he in anyway flushed on.   Sweet dish and finish though.

How much did this Shaq guy pay to get this exposure. Easy Dunk that had no chance of being blocked because of the angle he shot from thanks to the pass. I wouldn't even call that being dunked on.

This is what is wrong with basketball today. Who cares if the guy dunked? Who cares if the best shotblocker in the nation got dunked on?
If you play in the post against good players you will eventually get dunked on. Shaq, Hakeem, Eaton, Duncan, Robinson, etc. all got dunked on.
These were the best shotblockers in the world. Sometimes the help defense or the rotation of the defense hang a defender out to dry.
This is not newsworthy and it is ashame that a highschooler is getting a story wirtten about being dunked on in a summer event. This is why
these guys get on tv and think somebody cares about where they are committing to. This is also why they think they all deserve cars and money while attending college. Instead they ought to just attend class and take advantage of the free education they are being granted by the fine university because they can bounce a ball and put it in the hoop. Just leave the summer high school events out of the media and let these guys develope and become better ballplayers.

LOL that's not getting dunked on. Did you even watch the video before writing this. I didn't realize that if a guy beats you to the baseline and the only thing that's in front of him is your forearm, it counts as getting "dunked" on. Only time it would be getting dunked on is if Cleare put Noel's head to his nuts while dunking.
