Rick Stansbury dismissed D.J. Gardner from the Mississippi State basketball team on Friday. The development came a day after Stansbury announced the heralded freshman would redshirt, and less than 15 hours after Gardner publicly expressed his displeasure with the coaching staff via Twitter.

"These b***es tried to f**k me over," Gardner Tweeted late Thursday, according to a screen shot grabbed by the Clarion-Ledger's Brandon Marcello. "That’s y I red shirted .. But I wish my homies a great as* season.. I don’t even know y I’m still here"

Gardner is an in-state product who averaged 32 points and 10 rebounds as a high school senior.

He chose Mississippi State over Memphis.

Well he could go to Kentucky and play with the other thugs Calipari recruits and have fans like UKsmithfan and those other inbreds cheer for him!

Ah, you're just jealous because Pastner can't recruit the high level thugs that Calipari is capable of signing, and instead get the mid major thugs. Come on, admit it.....Tnzazz, Squared, both admit this is true.

Could someone explain the difference to me between tweeting and posting on a message board? It would seem to me that, in terms of sharing your opinion with the masses, a message board is more of an open forum. Social Media is social media.

Proof why student athletes shouldn't be handed stipends. They think they are entitled to something before ever playing a game.

What a piece of crap! Typical coddled, punkish, thugish, selfish and no respect attitude among athletes. Good luck getting anywhere in life with that attitude. Even if you make a million, your dumb selfish butt will never be successful with that type attitude and will lose everything until you learn to be grateful for you talent and use it wisely.

Gardner chose Miss State over Memphis-NOT!

He chose Miss State when Adonis Thomas committed to Memphis. Gardner was NOT going to play in front of Thomas. If Gardner wants to go Memphis,he should expect to come off bench!

Such an educated and well thought out tweet.  I'm sure he's in school because of basketball talent only.  I wonder if MSU is going to reevaluate and give an admission notice to a freshman-to-be whose student allocation was taken by Homies Gardner.

Could not have said it better, including the thoughts on twitter.  What a completely self indulgent waste of time.

Geez...are you kidding?  What leads you to believe he was "lied to"?  do you think recruiters told this brat he could screw around in practice, give minimal effort, and then start?  I dont care if you scored 32 and cleared 10 a game in high school...just like every level of competition, you have to continue to reprove your skills and your devotion.  MSU (not Ole Miss) has as much vested interest in this boy's success as he does...winning games = butts in seats = money = keep your jobs.  PLEASE stop painting college athletes as helpless victims, their strings being pulled by coaches and admin hell-bent on making their lives miserable.  If this loser's passion on the court was on par with his love of Tweeting his dumb opinions, we wouldnt be having this conversation right now.
