The NCAA has declared Ohio State freshman LaQuinton Ross a non-qualifier, a source confirmed to CBSSports.com on Monday. Consequently, the 6-foot-8 forward will not attend OSU this year. A source told CBSSports.com that Ross will "return home" to Mississippi, "take a class and retake the SAT."

CBSSports.com ranked Ross 13th in the Class of 2011.

The Buckeyes are still expected to be a consensus top-five team.

Ohio State has tarnished there image so bad after what has gone on this past year it will take years to recover.. The more we hear about the school the more we realize just how dirty of a program they run. Good luck suckeyes with your recruiting for a long time to come!

Or contact Coach Cal about "ways around the rules".  I hear he has a book or two out.

UK also had Ross on their radar, so it's quite hypocritical for UK fans to be bashing OSU when your very own program wanted him as well.

And it's definitely not OSU's fault that he didn't qualify.  He can only blame himself for that.  The time lost recruiting him will suck, but at least they found this out and made the declaration before he came to OSU.

Morons, the last four or five players I have read about being ineligible I got from the front page of CBS.  So climb down off your crosses; you aren't martyrs just yet.  And forgive the media anyway if, in the course of their job duties, which because of THE osu's reckelessness and just plain stupidity is focusing on that university, they come across another sports-related story.  OSU has gotten away for decades with what other schools have received harsh punsihments for, and I have no doubt Gee will suck enough Emmert penis to get another slap on the wrist.  Ah, well, its all good, because your football program will take years to recover even from a Gee-blowjob-induced hand slap, and once Sullinger leaves your cyclical basketball program will disappear from view for another five-six years or so.  By the way, if you hate CBS so much, simple solution: get your asses off their page.  Funny thing is, the most vocal of you douchebags are All-Star and Superstar rankings, so you're either masochists or just want to bitch.

Rent a player?  So what is Ohio State supposed to do?  Not recruit the top talent?  That just may be the most idiotic statement I have ever read.  And the last time I checked, the Player of the Year runner-up is returning...  so suck it.

You could put what you know about Ohio State and what is accurate in your comment on the head of a pin.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried, minor. The local Columbus press are the ones who has been doing most of the expose pieces. The national media just picks up the story or uses the Dispatch as a source. Lots of schools have guys show up for one year and then leave for the NBA. You're acting like tOSU has a monopoly on it when you know damn well that's not the case. Someone needs to quit drinking the h8erade.

OSU fans...just be glad they declared this now instead of after your season is over, when they can make you vacate all your games for using a player they cleared twice.
