The NCAA has declared Ohio State freshman LaQuinton Ross a non-qualifier, a source confirmed to on Monday. Consequently, the 6-foot-8 forward will not attend OSU this year. A source told that Ross will "return home" to Mississippi, "take a class and retake the SAT." ranked Ross 13th in the Class of 2011.

The Buckeyes are still expected to be a consensus top-five team.

Definitely front page news

I'm glad the Ohio State "rent a player" program occasionally hits a snag.

Oh, BTW: the national media doesn't "have it in for Ohio State."  It's just that the Columbus media have kissed THE Ohio State University's, uh, feet for so long that an objective media looks biased in comparison.  I'm still waiting for Gordon Gee's BFF Mark Emmert to either resign or remove himself from his massive conflict of interest in the NCAA's investigation and enforcement case against THE Ohio State University.

Ohio State is going to get off with yet another wrist-slap, even though they are the dirtiest program in college football.  Miami was one booster; THE Ohio State University's abuse is systemic and systematic.  Anyone who is scheduled to testify to the NCAA receives death threats and suddenly "changes his mind" or was "misquoted."
If it wasn't for Sports By Brooks, THE Ohio State University's cheating would already have been swept under the carpet.  I hope they get what they deserve from the NCAA, but it isn't going to happen.

I agree.  How is this front-page headline news?  What does the media have in for Ohio State?

How is this front page news?  It's almost as if every single news outlet is sitting on pins and needles just waiting for anything negative to come out of Columbus.  I'm not a psycho fan - but really?  Give it a rest media.
