Remember Billy Edelin? The enigmatic guard who played on and off for Syracuse more than six years ago? What ever happened to him? And why is there a college basketball blog named in his honor?

Nick Fasulo runs the superb blog, and it so happens that he wound up driving from Boston to Manlius, N.Y., to meet the 28-year-old Edelin. Here's his story of how and why it happened. I've always liked the work Fasulo's done at the site, and I vowed I'd have him on the podcast eventually. The Edelin get seemed like the perfect time to make good on my word.

The story is pretty interesting, as Edelin's myth and reputation have essentially run in direct contrast to the man today, a man who helped Syracuse win a title in 2003. A man who's teaching Jim Boeheim's kids about basketball in a tiny gym 20 minutes from Syracuse. I think you'll enjoy the back story here. Toward the end of the podcast we turn our focus to the season ahead and talk storylines we're looking forward to, plus gab a bit on Xavier -- Fasulo's alma mater.
