Kansas coach Bill Self announced Sunday night that he has suspended Tyshawn Taylor and Elijah Johnson for the Jayhawks' two exhibition games because they violated team rules this past offseason.

"Tyshawn and Elijah have both been terrific since school began in August," Self said. “They’ve not only performed well, they have been very responsible and disciplined the first few months of the school year. But during the offseason they violated a rule that I told them, because of some past experiences, their punishment was going to be severe and I was going to hold them out of the two exhibition games. They have been aware of this for several months and also are disappointed but have had very positive attitudes about it."

The suspensions of Taylor and Johnson -- both of whom were also suspended for violating team rules last season -- means Kansas will have just five scholarship players available for Tuesday's exhibition against Pittsburg State if Thomas Robinson, a CBSSports.com First Team Preseason All-American, is unable to play because of a hyperextended knee. Self said Sunday that Robinson is "questionable" for the exhibition. The 6-foot-9 forward was injured in practice last week.

"Losing two players and Thomas being questionable for Tuesday’s game probably changes the look of our team as much as anyone in the country," Self said. "This gives a chance for our young guys to play under the lights and see how they react."

Kansas is ranked 14th in the CBSSports.com Preseason Top 25 (and one).

If this had happened at Kentucky, Calipari would have reduced the player's weekly checks they get from the boosters. I wonder when they finally catch up to all the corruption of Calipari, will Kentucky be given the death penalty?

"But during the offseason they violated a rule that I told them, because of some past experiences, their punishment was going to be severe....." so they are suspended for....wait for it.....two EXHIBITION games.  Damn Billy, how can you live with yourself, being such a hard-ass.

Love it.  The rest of the team needs to grow up quick, and it is a great opportunity for the guys on the floor to learn how to lead.  But, Tyshawn and Elijha need to understand the impact their absences could have on their team.  Especially if KU loses a nothing game against a nothing team, they would surely understand how their selfish actions affect those who are unselfishly working for something greater than themselves.

Gotta be tough and show you who's in charge here. We are a team so you're suspended for two practice games.

And Kentucky will soon lead the Nation in forfeited wins and vacated final 4's.-------------Kentucky has never had a final 4 vacated. We have had numerous wins revoked, but we still lead in total victories. Only at UK would this be possible.

If anyone was foolish enough to believe that Tyshawn "Knucklehead" Taylor was going to mature and be a leader for the Jayhawks in his senior year, here's your slap in the face. The kid just can't get out of his own way. It's too bad to see someone waste their talents by being so childish.

GROW UP, TYSHAWN. You're 22 freaking years old. I know high school was fun, but you're not in high school anymore, child. You are blowing any slim chance at the NBA that you might have had. You don't think that NBA GM's read this stuff? Idiot. And stop dragging Elijah Johnson down with you!

Soooooo...

Watch Releford go for about 52-30 in both "exhibition" games. After all, they're against D2 schools. Must not have been major issues-curfew, twitter, whatever. Self needs to give others the minutes anyway. Robinson will be on the pine with a hyperextended knee also. Will be a year that HCBS will get tested as a coach, patience has not been his companion in the past. TT shouldn't push too hard, he could get his rear canned for good with a repeat of past performances, ala, the Moon Bar or the Footbrawl Team? Heaven forbid. Some kids don't ever mature enough to be responsible people in a community. Just want to be rock stars or super jocks forever. Or maybe a rapper? Ya think?

What's it going to take before Tyshawn Taylor is dismissed from the team? I'd have booted him long before now if I were his coach.
