Luther Head's little brother has been suspended for the first four games of the season for the good old "violation of team rules."

Illinois put out a statement this afternoon.

Crandall Head, a 6-foot-4 sophomore, missed Tuesday's exhibition and will miss another exhibition game next week. Then he'll miss the opener against Loyola on Nov. 11 and a Nov. 14 contest against SIU-Edwardsville.

So, in essence, Head won't really miss anything meaningful, anyway.

Except for an opportunity to stay out of Bruce Weber's doghouse.

Head will play sparingly, anyway, perimeter guys Brandon Paul, D.J. Richardson and Bradley one-year transfer Sam Maniscalco. Freshman Tracy Abrams is also likely ahead of Head on Weber's depth chart as well.

Head averaged 1.4 points per game in just 6.1 minutes a year ago.

Just a random thought......Is Crandall's middle name 'Richard'?
