Is Derrick Rose's older brother part of another NCAA investigation?

Yes, according to a Connecticut newspaper.

The Danbury News-Times reported Saturday that Ryan Boatright's eligibility at Connecticut is under review because of a plane ticket once purchased for the freshman point guard by Reggie Rose, brother of NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose. Boatright spent his high school years playing summer basketball for the D-Rose All-Stars. Reggie Rose coaches the D-Rose All-Stars.

CBSSports.com's attempt to reach Reggie Rose for comment early Saturday was unsuccessful.

Connecticut announced Wednesday that Boatright, a freshman from Illinois, would be held out of games until the NCAA concluded a review of his eligibility, but the school offered no further details at the time. The News-Times reported Saturday that Boatright could be suspended for three to six games once the NCAA's review concludes.

This isn't the first time Reggie Rose and improper travel have been a part of an investigation. The NCAA found that Reggie Rose incurred $2,260 worth of unpaid expenses while traveling with the Memphis basketball team during the 2007-08 season. That season was later vacated once Derrick Rose's SAT score was invalidated.

Please advise where you come up with the conclusion that the Husky men's team is not eligible for post season play next year?  Wishful thinking on your part!

Enjoy it this year Husky fan.  You aren't even eligible for post season play next season.  The Big East will fall apart, Calhoun will retire and UConn will fade back into obscurity.

At least you'll always ave the women's team.

Sour grapes because of UK's TWO loses to UConn last season?  Gotta tell you the most satisfying thing about the Final Four UConn win over UK was watching 20,000 UK fans leaving the stadium with frowns on thier faces!  GO HUSKIES!!  Repeat time!!

Hey!  Remember when UConn had their Final Four vacated in 1996?  Oh wait... my mistake... they didn't make it to the Final Four that year, so .

Anybody remember what that was all about?

I do.

Plane tickets for players.

The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess.

In UConn's defense, its a bit of a stretch to pin this one on anyone at UConn.  Just a detail that fell through the cracks during his recruitment.  I seriously doubt he'll end up getting kicked out of school for violating a restraining order placed on him by the girl who filed charges against him for sexual assault.  Lightning can't strike twice, right?

Better hope he doesn't get pissed over the suspension and transefer in the middle of the semester.  UConn might end up posting an APR so low the just get booted from the NCAA all together.  Laughing

Dude, I don't know how many times I have caught spelling mistakes on here. It's always CBS not espn.com. the fantasy writers are some of the worst. You mean to tell me you can't click spell check or simply just read over it once, twice.

The thing about both of these coaches is that neither is "clean as a whistle". The difference between the 2 is that one of them has 3 National Championships and the other has zero.

Boatright's eligibility tied to D-Rose's brother

Oh my goodness!! So the kid got an airplane ticket purchased by his coach, who happens to have a brother in the NBA...and who happened to be the MVP of the league....and??? The NCAA is on some very slippery ground here. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of alumni who purchase an item for a kid on some sports team in high school over the summer. Are we going to hold all schools and players to the same standard as we are holding this kid? I mean the idea that you can't buy a kid a plane ticket, shoes, books, notebook paper is getting silly. To show who silly the NCAA is becoming. During a homecoming event, a high school float had all the Big East teams logos located all over the float. Turns out this is a violation of NCAA rules. It gives colleges an unfair advantage, even if all of the schools are represented. The NCAA has to really have a serious summer session when which they look at some of these silly rules. In the case of Boatright, this is anothe example of a silly NCAA rule.

UKfan... You are a douche!

And exctly how does this go on Calhoun in any way, shape or form? Oh wait this is how I envision it...  Calhoun must have given the money to an assistant team manager at Uconn; the asst. team manager took a cab (also paid by Calhoun) to Syracuse and gave the money and a note to the Syracuse football mascot who happened to be his cousin and a shady fella; the mascot high fived and hugged a bunch of fans in the stands (in one of the many games the 'Cuse got blown out in :)) and one of them happened to be a bookie he gambled with (also paid for by Calhoun) which he stuffed the money in the bookies pocket with the note; the bookie flew to Los Angeles and had dinner with a couple strippers (also paid for by Calhoun) of which he gave one of them the money and note; the stripper went home to see her paerents (also paid for by Calhoun) in Tennesee over the holidays and met D' roses bro at a club; they went home and she banged him and while riding him she gave him the money and note; he read the note and it said "this is from Jim Calhoun, make sure you pay for Ryan Boatrights plane ticket wink! wink!'
