Memphis tends to have noteworthy team introduction videos. These things are produced to light up the arena when the big switch shuts off the other bulbs in the joint. The music blares, the crowd frenzies and the public address announcer earns his paycheck. Players often dance employ interpretive dance as means to proper preparation and initiation for competition.

The Tigers' video starts with "Also sprach Zarathustra" (99.6 percent of the world recognizes this song as the thing that starts "2001: A Space Odyssey"), and as the climax finishes, the video suddenly turns into a Linkin Park-infused laser show. The song is actually "Kick Ass" by a band named Egypt Central. The fellas implore us all to stand up and, additionally, get our hands up. They also want to be sure we're ready to take on such a physical endeavor.

The song doesn't quite fit the image of this team, but I'm enthralled nonetheless. Lasers: always increasing the awesome factor.
