This was the only damage N.C. State did to UNC yesterday. (Via's Will Brinson's Twitter)

Bill Gates dropped $750 mil to fight worldwide AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria problems. NBD. // I am the 5 percent. // More evidence the earth is getting its temps upped. Fun times. // Awesome save-the-date. // Apparently Ferris Bueller will make his return -- in a Super Bowl commercial ...

★ Remember the fella who got suspended for texting on his phone? Played at Marshall? Yeah -- the team, shall I say, disconnected him for good.

★ On Wednesday I wrote that this season has been hampered because conference races aren't clear and some parity abounds. This column from Nick Fasulo echoes that sentiment.

★ Doyel takes on the Cameron Lazies.

★ You saw the full-court heave from N.C. State last night, yes? (Check Night Court if not.) Here's a high school student doing that to win a game.

★ Over the past decade, no coach has been better than Bill Self when it comes to pure scoring and pure defensive coaching.

★ I was waiting since the start of the season for this story from Myron Medcalf. Job well done.

★ They're not gray -- THEY'RE PLATINUM.

★ WHOAWHOAWHOA. How did I miss when the Style Archive went up earlier this week?

★ The best basketball montages/scenes from TV shows past. The Fresh Prince court should be in the Hall of Fame.

★ Trailing by 29 ... and scoring 30 straight to win the game. Unbelievable.

★ Which teams are most similar to Missouri? Teams from the past 10 years, that is.

★ Drexel was supposed to win the Colonial. Doesn't look like it's going to happen. How good are they, really?

★ Northeastern's head coach will donate money for every person in attendance at the Huskies' game this weekend.

★ This list of college basketball's alleged 10 best uniforms is stale and totally ignorant of the small-time teams. At most, maybe four major programs occupy the 10 best unis in all of college hoops. Where's Pepperdine? Indiana State? Vermont?

► Tony Wroten, Jr. can get up to get down.

♬ I'm hitting up Vermont tomorrow for my only ski day of the year. I grew up the Green Mountain State, by the way. Phish is the obvious choice to take us into the weekend. This one is unlike most from the catalogue. Give it a go.

Wakeup Call: More proof of Bill Self's dominance

As was mentioned in another post, Self's brief tenure in the Big Ten produced an average 12-4 record in conference (35-13) and 2 conference titles. Not sure what criteria the mensa member Mr. Dufuss constitutes "winning", but in my book 2 conference titles in 3 years meets the standard regardless of how 'brutal" the Big Ten is. Additionally, it was his players (the culmination of 4 years of recruiting) that Weber coached to the National Title game the season after Self left. Weber hasn't come close since.

Self is going to  recruit better players at Kansas than Illinois, just as Tubby Smith recruited better players at Kentucky than Minnesota, hence not "winning as much in their Big Ten schools. Kansas and Kentucky are top 5 all time programs, Illinois and Minnesota are not. It is not an "omen" or an indication of Big Ten conference being "brutal' it is just a fact.

Wakeup Call: More proof of Bill Self's dominance

Why would he want to leave the best coaching position in America? Don't ever expect him leave Kansas.

Wakeup Call: More proof of Bill Self's dominance

whos the dufass that said Bill Self couldn't win in the big 10. Not only did he win there, the big 12 has been much better than the big 10 the last few years. There was never any doubt in my mind Self was the best coach in bball, even without this list. He just isn't as good of a recruiter as coach k, roy williams, or calipari. He does most of his damage with 3 and 4 star recruits. He gets incredibly raw freshman, and in 1 or 2 years turns them into superstars. T Rob couldn't do anything but dunk when he got to Kansas, look at him now. Danny Manning deserves a lot of credit though too. I can't beleive nobody has pryed him away from Kansas yet with a head coaching gig. Also, that best uniform list is dreadful. Most of those uniforms are incredibly drab and boring.

Wakeup Call: More proof of Bill Self's dominance

???? Bill Self spent 3 years in the Big Ten and went 35-13 while tying for 1st twice and getting 2nd once.....That seems like winning to me.

Wakeup Call: More proof of Bill Self's dominance

I expected to read something about Bill Self?  --I like Self.  He's a class act; but he could never win in the Big Ten, could he?  Why is that?  Tubby Smith, too.  The got/get alot of talent from around the country, but cannot win in the Big Ten.  We need to look at that as an omen, maybe?  The Big Ten is just a brutal conference --plain and simple.
