Irrevelant?

How do you call a conference that consistantly sends between 7-9 teams every year to bowl games irrevelant in college football? The top teams have not been dominant the past few years but they are all competitive enough that they attract quality opponents and have great fan bases which translates into good bowl games. This year 4 of the teams are in the top 25 recruiting classes with one at #2 (FSU)and one at #6 (Clemson). If you only judge schools by total wins then I will give you that-the ACC is not always amongst the 'best' conferences, but if you look at the overall packages the schools offer like academics and locations and overall commitment to the students then you have a better indicator why student athletes choose ACC schools and stay (i.e. Kyle Parker giving up $800,000 to stay at Clemson for his senior year). It can be debated if that was a wise decision-only Kyle can truly answer that-but if you judge by wins only then you can say it was a bad decision. I think being part of the Clemson family is a much better option then struggling through minor league ball. His compensation will come when he joins the rockies next season. One year removed is not a big deal.

AMAZINGGGGGGGGG!

It never ceases to amaze me the success that Clemson has in the recruiting arena.   Too bad they always underachieve as a team that is mired in mediocrity in a conference that is completely irrelevant in the world of college football.

Maybe these goliaths of the grey matter who continue to flock to this also ran of a college football program will someday realize that Clemson is NOT the place to be if you want to play major college football and be a competitor for anything other than a division title in the Always Craving Cash conference.

First of all spell Ben's name right, second Ben did not get any media fanfare signing day! He went to freakin Miami of Ohio U. So his screw ups are all on him. I do however agree with all the media crap. It is setting these young men up to fail in life. If some of these guys blow a knee out and never can play again they have nothing. Thet are not there for the classes and probably were pushed through high school.  The example you should have used is Maurice Clarett not Ben.

Who cares!  GA could sign everyone else available and Richt will still squander and mismanage the talent, turning in yet another under-achieving season.  Why Georgia puts up with it is beyond me.
