Cyrus Kouandjio to delay signing?

We may want to hold off on that talk about how Auburn has signed the best offensive line class in the history of offensive line classes. Despite his nationally televised announcement this afternoon that he would be attending Auburn, Cyrus Kouandjio has yet to sign his letter of intent and is not officially a member of any college program just yet.

According to several reports out of various Alabama-based recruiting media, Kouandjio is likely to follow in the path of 2010 No. 1 tackle Seantrel Henderson and delay his signing by a few days to re-evaluate his decision. Obviously, this isn't good news for the Tigers, who would rather have Kouandjio firmly in their corner rather than expressing such obvious doubts, especially -- double, triple especially -- when the other option is Alabama and Nick Saban.

Kouandjio's comments about his "heart" being with Auburn in the face of maybe other concerns pointing towards the Tide will be an unfortunate echo for Tiger fans after Brent Calloway, another prospect who initially spurned the Tide for Auburn despite obvious Alabama interest, ultimately chose today to head to Tuscaloosa.

How big an impact will Kouandjio's decision have? According to Maxpreps writer Jon Buzby , his signature would vault Alabama from No. 3 to No. 1 in the Maxpreps team rankings, while dropping Auburn from 4th to 8th.

Both teams will be able to say they have extremely impressive classes regardless. But they won't be quite as impressive without the nation's most highly sought-after offensive line recruit.

Who cares about the rank?  The rankings are rediculous anyways.  One site has Auburn #1, another #4....who cares?  Regardless, Auburn has already brought in one of the best offensive lines of all time on recruiting day with a#1 Guard, #1 Center, #2 Tackle and more ranked in the top 150.  If Kouandjio wants his father and brother to dictate where he plays football, God Bless him!  That is his choice and I respect it regardless of where he goes.  If he wants to complete a class of offensive lineman that will probably be forever known as one of the best in college ever, as a unit, then thats his choice as well.  Both Auburn and Alabama are great schools and will probably both win it all again in the next few years, so he cant lose there.  It comes down to going with HIS heart.  If its Bama, then fine.  If its Auburn, fantastic and I look forward to watching this amazing O-line grow and dominate.  I just hope to see this young man beyond this decision because it is ugly how many people are all over him 24/7, including his own father.  And in regards to his early season verbal to Bama, honestly, who to say that verbal wasnt pushed by his father or brother!  That is why I say I hope he does whats best for him and his heart, not his dads or anyone else's.

So how many scholarships did you offer this year?  Like 21?  And how many players departed?  Like 12?  You stupid swamp rats...

I'm glad Cyrus is taking more time to reconsider his college choice, because though he could later transfer that sometimes turns out to be a can of worms.  It certainly isn't an ideal situation.  I don't think the barners should have special access to him because he's clearly not feeling good about his decision, as was the case with Brent Calloway.  Alabama, the Crimson Tide, isn't going to recruit such a highly respected player, and then not play him.  Let the young man talk with his family and give some quiet time to make this important decision.

also, funny that an iowa fan talks about morals when just a few years ago it was your school that decided to try and sue my alma mater (the university of southern mississippi) all because our golden eagle looked a little too much like your hawkeye, by god if that isnt morals you can look up to then what is right??  talk about frivolous, and by the way, our eagle looks better anyway

If your team didn't show a lack of morals

i would say kicking your star quarterback off the team for repeated violations of team policy shows lsu's morals, maybe you can provide me a link of some sort to change my mind? (doubt it) but the last time i checked lsu was considered one of the cleaner programs, not just in the SEC, but in the country, the 1 violation that was commited since miles took over was corrected quickly with self-imposed santions, so please elaborate on their morals...

caring about its players' lives after they graduate

examples of how the school doesnt care about former players and lacks morals in doing so??  funny that ive never heard either of these accusations, so maybe u can provide me with some sort of link, or evidence to back up your claims

Hey, Iowa fans (both of you), when you stop running a steroid factory we will take you seriously again.  Nice bringing up graduation rates (easy when no one leaves early for the pros like at Iowa) to cover up institutional dishonesty and cheating.  Now actually check out LSU's graduation rates - you might be shocked.  Have you midwesterners ever heard of research or verification or do you always rely soley on stereotypes?  Broaden your horizons farmers...

There is simply no place at Auburn for Cyrus to play.  If he goes to Alabama, he will have to fight his brother for a starting job.   On the other hand, he could go to Southern Cal and start right away.
