Boise St signs 19, welcomes them to the blue turf

They may be light on the star ratings coming out of high school but Boise State’s 2011 recruiting class is heavy on accomplishments. The Broncos announced that they signed 19 players to a letter of intent, many of whom were named to various all-state or all-county teams.

The majority of the class is composed of linemen, three on each side of the ball. Boise State’s elevated profile the past few years is evident in where the student-athletes hail from, eight from California, four from Texas and one from Oregon, Washington and Canada.

Junior college kicker Dextrell Simmons transfers in from Blinn Junior College. In what might be taken as a good sign for Broncos fans, Simmons played on the same Blinn junior college team as the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton. Perhaps some of Newton's luck rubbed off.

Boise State also said three players were brought in as grayshirts and will be part of the 2010 signing class.

The Broncos open the 2011 season against Georgia on September 3rd.

And, Boise will have to play very well against  Georgia to come away with a W.  I remember the last time they played and Georgia ran them out of the stadium.

Getting run out of the stadium can happen...just look at your Duck's last visit to Boise.

Agree with your Utah opinion but not TCU.  Who knows what would have been the outcome this last year if Boise would have matched up with TCU.  We'll find out this year though.

So when you say Utah out recruited Boise State "again", i'm guessing that means they've done it recently?  Hasn't really done them much good has it?

That's only 7 months away (7 long, painful, difficult to endure months).  These recruits know who they are going to play for and who they are expected to play.  They better start getting ready now, because expectations placed on a recruiting class have never been higher.

TCU and UTAH clearly out recruited Boise State this year, again!

You would think one of them would be able to beat BSU, wouldn't you?  Heck, you would think Utah would be able to put up at least one touchdown against BSU in the last two meetings.  To refresh your memory...36-3 and 26-3.  When the Utes can prove they can put the ball across the goal line "just once", then pop-off.

Whoa, so 6 out of 19 is a majority now?
