Miami picked up the commitment of standout Cordale (Ga.) basketball player Jontavious Carter Wednesday night. The first year football player is also a pretty talented wide receiver and when the Hurricanes extended a scholarship offer in the sport, he was quick to accept.

"Miami got my film in the mail and they watched it today. I called Coach [Brennan] Carroll to make sure they got it and he told me they saw it and that they wanted to offer me a full ride to Miami," Carter told Scout. "I talked to Carroll for a little bit, then I talked to Coach [Al] Golden and I told him I wanted to be part of 'The U'. He told me to talk to my family and then to call him back."

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound carter did not hold any offers before Miami but was drawing interest from several schools across the south. Although it was the first offer, it was also the offer Carter was looking for.

"Miami is the offer I wanted," he added. "I am ready to be a Cane, I want to get down there early, and I am just going to keep working so I am ready when I get there."

Carter receiver is the eighth commit for the 'Canes class fo 2012 and the first at his position.

Carter commits to 'The U'

Hey Hokie,

Probably doesn't wanna play in that pig sty of a field you call Lane Stadium either.  That place is an absolute $H!7H0L3.  I'm surprised the NCAA even allows games there.  Yeah and its usually better when the girls have at least half their teeth you frikkin redneck.  Although the head might be better when its all gums.

Why would anyone want to go to that pig sty facility at the "U".  I am surprised they ever get any players.  It must be the girls.  LOL
