Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher already has a number one class in the country to his credit and he's making a run at back-to-back titles with a strong followup effort in 2012. The Seminoles' class got stronger Monday morning with the commitment of Mobile (Ala.) lineman Alphonse Taylor.

"That’s where my heart is and my parents approved,” Taylor told

The 6-foot-6, 340 pound Taylor recently took an unofficial visit to the school and followed it up with a verbal commitment soon afterwards.

"I was ready for it the process to be over and I fell in love with FSU," Taylor told the website. "My mom loved it and that put them over the edge with me."

One of the key factors in his recruitment was recruiting coordinator Dameyune Craig, who was responsible for the state of Alabama and has already made several inroads in the state.

"He was real big. I mean we communicated well," Taylor said. "I was relaxed around him. He felt like one of my family members."

Taylor is the second commitment from the state of Alabama in Florida State's class of 2012 and eighth overall. He is expected to start out on the offensive line as a tackle but can also play defensive tackle.
