Rutgers added a second member to its class of 2012 Thursday afternoon in Warminster (Pa.) running back Desmon Peoples, who selected the Scarlet Knights at a ceremony in his high school.

"Kids at school today were asking me all day where I was going," Peoples told ScarletNation.com. "I told them, you'll see at 1:30 in the library."

The 5-foot-7, 160 pound back had been involved with several schools at this point in the recruiting process but a recent trip to Piscataway allowed Peoples to feel comfortable with pulling the trigger on a commitment.

"I went to the practice, I liked the tempo, all the hype, rah rah stuff," he said. "I feel like every Division 1 program that wants to win a national championship needs that. I felt that I was going to commit. I told my dad about it and he said just wait until Saturday and see what campus life is like and you can go from there. After Saturday, I was like, 'I love it.'"

Peoples selected Rutgers over his other finalists UCLA, Pitt and Temple. He joins wide receiver Ruhann Peele in the Scarlet Knights' class of 2012.
