USC adds another big back in Pinner

USC hasn't had to worry about their normally loaded backfield in some time but with some depth chart concerns, the school has put out offers to several running backs in the class of 2012. The Trojans alleviated some cause for concern by grabbing their second tailback in the upcoming class when Mission Viejo (Calif.) back Jaheel Pinner committed on Friday.

"Yup, I committed to USC after I talked it over with my family," Pinner told USCFootball.com. "I like the SC campus, and it's close to home. I like that USC recruits the best and I can compete against the best."

The Trojans were the first one to offer Pinner but he was receiving interest from several other programs such as Arizona and Arizona State. At 6-foot-1, 230-pounds, he will likely play a little fullback for USC as well.

"USC actually uses their fullbacks real well," he told the site. "I think it'd be a real good fit for me to play both because I'd come out of the backfield and do a little bit of single back by myself. I could line up in the slot sometimes and I can do all of those things, so it would be a good fit for me."

Pinner joins another big tailback, 5-foot-11, 225-pound Kelvin York, in USC's 2012 class. Although USC is facing scholarship limits (how many is still up in the air due to the school's ongoing NCAA appeal), the Trojan coaching staff has hit the recruiting trail hard and now has seven early commitments total.

Pinner rushed for 1,007 yards and 12 touchdowns and also caught two scores. He plays for Orange Country powerhouse Mission Viejo High, which has sent several players a few miles north to USC in the past.

You tell him Sparky!!...lol

This is coming from an infant who has a sign-on name that's a kid's video game.  The quack, quack, quack, was also a very nice touch...if you're an eleven year old.

Btw--nice grammar, but considering you're into video games and not educating yourself, why should anyone be surprised?

Be patient ER, his frontal lobe isn't fully developed.
LMAO.. 5 Stars!

@sunonomo
We will do very well with our current coach. I think this is the same coach, that while at Tennessee came within a few points of kicking your butts. You guys were heavy favorites to win that game.

You were also crying like little babies about comments he made about your beloved coach who quit then returned then finally retired at the end of last season.

We will also do very well with our recruits and will not over recruit because at your school you have to take into account the ones that will be going to jail for infractions.

Over recruiting would leave you with just enough players once those that slap their girlfriends, beat up patrons at a local bars are kicked off the team.

They are only 17 or 18 and are not allowed to drink. I suppose the bartender is a Gator and have problems with numbers and ages, or perhaps he cannot read. Oh yeah he is a Gator also.

We will worry about our team, the recruits and if we are further penalized unjustly then we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Did you guys reschedule The Citadel and Charleston Southern again this year? What are you favored by?  Good luck on your schedule. I know your team will make it to a bowl game again as you would have played your four out of conference patsies and a couple of  wins against Ole Miss, Kentucky or other bottom feeders would ensure you of that.

So, here's the serious part of the post:

Great job recruiting a "home boy". He should be another in a long line of great backs to come through USoCal.

Now here's the part where I must rib you (I have no choice):

"I like that USC recruits the best and I can compete against the best." Well, at least 'till they have to withdraw the scholarship because of caps. Speaking of competing, USoCal did a nice job of competing against Washington (At least they had a winning record at 7-6), Stanford (shockingly good at 12-1), Oregon (didn't look so good against Auburn but still finished 12-1), Oregon State (fight on! 5-7) and Notre Dame (lookin' solid at 8-5).

Speaking of fighting on, how's that new head coach? Aren't you guys going to be quite the dynasty under that clown?!?
