When Lakewood (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Kalis decommitted from Ohio State following the resignation of Jim Tressel, many pegged archrival Michigan as the odds-on favorite to land the top 100 prospect. Sunday afternoon, Kalis ended speculation and made it public that he will be a Wolverine.

Why Michigan? "The coaches, recruiting class, feeling comfortable," Kalis told 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder is ranked 61st overall in the class of 2012 by MaxPreps and is just the latest addition to an impressive recruiting class by new head coach Brady Hoke. Kalis is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Todd Kalis, who went to school at Arizona State and played for the Vikings, Steelers and Bengals during an eight-year career.

Kalis told MGoBlog.com that he would have committed to Michigan several weeks ago following his first official visit but that his coach told him to wait. Instead, he committed following his second unofficial visit to the school on Sunday and has already started recruiting for the school.

The addition of Kalis gives the Wolverines 19 commitments in the class of 2012 and their third Top 100 player. He is also the fifth offensive lineman to verbally pledge as Hoke overhauls the offense in Ann Arbor.

Kalis makes flip from Ohio State to Michigan

I'll say OSU has won 9 of the last 10 and the last tackle from St. Eds sucked at OSU.  Kalis will hopefully suck at Michigan.

OSU fans...do us all a favor.  Be adults...and say "hey, right now...we have nothing good to say about our program".

Be an adult for the first time in most of your lives.

Wow...OSU fans just never can take it on the chin.  I mean it's true, Michigan hasn't been that good over the past 4 years....and we (Michigan fans) tookj it on the chin and accepted it. But you OSU fans....many of you are clowns.  Honestly, real life clowns.  OSU, right now, is the joke of the Big 10.  So quit talking down to everyone about how great of a program it is.  No...it's not.  It ranks below Michigan academically...so don't even go there.  And second of all...OSU has more SERIOUS INFRACTIONS than any other school in NCAA since 2002.  So again..OSU is the joke of College Football right now.

Who cares about one lineman.  Looking at their schedule Michigan will at most have 7 wins next year.
Don't forget UM fans you are still relying on D Rod's recruits. Maybe in a few years your team can compete for the Big Ten Title but by that time the Bucks will be back on or near the top of the conference.  Hopefully, we as Big Ten fans can look forward to the days when both OSU and UM are playing at a high level.

Kalis makes flip from Ohio State to Michigan

As for Kalis, he made an intelligent decision.  He chose a University of Michigan education over all of the "hostesses," golden handshakes, cars, and "tutors" that THE Ohio State University has supplied to their players for the last ten years.  It certainly has been fun to watch Tressel and Pryor get caught during one of the best Ohio/PA/Midwest recruiting years in the last ten.  All of these great players are signing out of Ohio and PA this year, and THE Ohio State University has to watch them go somewhere else.

I guess karma really is a ditch.  Have fun digging out.

Is there really some Ohio idiot here trying to compare THE Ohio State University's buying of players and lavishing them with illegal benefits to fifteen minutes of stretching counted as "voluntary" instead of "involuntary" during the summer at Michigan?  The only thing more entertaining than Buckeye arrogance is Buckeye ignorance.  Actually, that's not true.  The most entertaining thing of all is watching Ohio fans squirm while they wonder if THE Ohio State University will finally get the punishment they so richly deserve.

THE Ohio State University got off lucky when Maurice Clarett was intimidated into silence by death threats, and they have definitely tampered with a lot of potential witnesses already concerning this pattern of major violations.  Hopefully, though, the NCAA will prove that they aren't the impotent, impertinent, and irrelevant lackeys they appear to be and accept what players and their enablers have already told investigators and reporters instead of making people show up to testify.

For too long, THE Ohio State University has gotten away with conduct that is more appropriate in a bad crime movie than an NCAA institution.  Hopefully, the Bucks stop here.
