When Lakewood (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Kalis decommitted from Ohio State following the resignation of Jim Tressel, many pegged archrival Michigan as the odds-on favorite to land the top 100 prospect. Sunday afternoon, Kalis ended speculation and made it public that he will be a Wolverine.

Why Michigan? "The coaches, recruiting class, feeling comfortable," Kalis told 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder is ranked 61st overall in the class of 2012 by MaxPreps and is just the latest addition to an impressive recruiting class by new head coach Brady Hoke. Kalis is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Todd Kalis, who went to school at Arizona State and played for the Vikings, Steelers and Bengals during an eight-year career.

Kalis told MGoBlog.com that he would have committed to Michigan several weeks ago following his first official visit but that his coach told him to wait. Instead, he committed following his second unofficial visit to the school on Sunday and has already started recruiting for the school.

The addition of Kalis gives the Wolverines 19 commitments in the class of 2012 and their third Top 100 player. He is also the fifth offensive lineman to verbally pledge as Hoke overhauls the offense in Ann Arbor.

Buckeyezane....You might want to look up recruiting rankings and get yourself up to speed. Michigan is nowhere near number one? What do you call near? I am sure if OSU had the 45th ranked class, that you would consider that near number one. And UM is ranked below OSU? You seriously need to take a look at this before you say anything else. Unless your information is packaged as the surprise in a box of Cracker Jack, I am concerned about your ability to read. I respect your loyalty to your Buckeyes. I hope you are as intense about them when they lose. But when someone loses all of their common sense and ability to reason and deal with the truth, only because they are so determined to make their team the best, it really takes the fun out of the rivalry.

Michigan is ranked number1 recruitung class for 2012........The question is where will Ohio be in 2012 for that matter 2013  2014  2015 2016...............................

..........................GO BLUE

Ranking class in a year is nothing if you don't have a coach who can handle the talent. And hoke isn't ready for the big ten. Much like rich rod. It is a tough conference to come into. Tougher than any other football conference RichRod found that out and we drove him all over this field. Now they have hoke, from a weaker conference. Ohio State might lose the big ten for two or three years but they've proved time and again they don't need the top recruiting class to be the best. See you on the field....... GO BUCKS!

Ohio State has to play Toledo this year, a team that has come close to beating them, and of course, OSU will be without its suspended players.  You're creating great "bulletin board" material.

Sorry Blue fans, your class is no where near number one in the rankings and is still rated below OSU,but I will admit that this loss is your gain and there may be more to follow, but a true Buckeye fan would never play for michigan just as a true Blue fan wouldn't play for OSU.
