When Lakewood (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Kalis decommitted from Ohio State following the resignation of Jim Tressel, many pegged archrival Michigan as the odds-on favorite to land the top 100 prospect. Sunday afternoon, Kalis ended speculation and made it public that he will be a Wolverine.

Why Michigan? "The coaches, recruiting class, feeling comfortable," Kalis told 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder is ranked 61st overall in the class of 2012 by MaxPreps and is just the latest addition to an impressive recruiting class by new head coach Brady Hoke. Kalis is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Todd Kalis, who went to school at Arizona State and played for the Vikings, Steelers and Bengals during an eight-year career.

Kalis told MGoBlog.com that he would have committed to Michigan several weeks ago following his first official visit but that his coach told him to wait. Instead, he committed following his second unofficial visit to the school on Sunday and has already started recruiting for the school.

The addition of Kalis gives the Wolverines 19 commitments in the class of 2012 and their third Top 100 player. He is also the fifth offensive lineman to verbally pledge as Hoke overhauls the offense in Ann Arbor.

Kalis makes flip from Ohio State to Michigan

Here is a young man that knows when a program is gonna be bad for a long time.. (like 3 years of rich rod),  He is looking out for his future and knows that he will get a quality education along with a great football experience at MICHIGAN.. Way to go.. His parents are probably jumping up and down and thinking this is great.

Bad Bucks:

You have to consider the source when reading idiotic statements! Both OSU amd UM will be up at the top in the future!

James Bond
Bad parenting is when os fans riot, plundering, turning cars over, etc in the streets after winning/losing a national championship. When Michigan visitors have to put their cars in at night so they won't get damaged.(we have friends, relations in Columbus who informed us to do this)Not when one player picks one school over another that fits them better! Both schools are great and their teams will rise to the top in the future. I believe the ex-president of osu even admitted to these actions. There are only one other group of fans in the Big Ten known for these actions--msu!

Putting Ohio States troubles aside, it is hard to believe one could switch from one school to the other under any circumstances.  That is tantamount to switching from a Republican to a Democrat, from straight to gay, from a Browns fan to a Pittspuke fan!  How can you grow up in Ohio and do that!?!?  I can only assume its bad parenting....Wink

Billium1953, You've Got To Be Kidding.....

Give the kid credit for leaving a drowning ship. If we had just taken care of business, SweaterVest had reported the violations when he heard them, we would be a program to admire and we keep these solid kids. To put Kalis in the same vein as Pryor is idiotic.

Anyone who goes to M**** instead of OSU we don't want anyway.  Obvioulsy he is just another Pryor and has no loyalty or interests outside himself.  We've had enough of these types.
