When Lakewood (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Kalis decommitted from Ohio State following the resignation of Jim Tressel, many pegged archrival Michigan as the odds-on favorite to land the top 100 prospect. Sunday afternoon, Kalis ended speculation and made it public that he will be a Wolverine.

Why Michigan? "The coaches, recruiting class, feeling comfortable," Kalis told 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder is ranked 61st overall in the class of 2012 by MaxPreps and is just the latest addition to an impressive recruiting class by new head coach Brady Hoke. Kalis is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Todd Kalis, who went to school at Arizona State and played for the Vikings, Steelers and Bengals during an eight-year career.

Kalis told MGoBlog.com that he would have committed to Michigan several weeks ago following his first official visit but that his coach told him to wait. Instead, he committed following his second unofficial visit to the school on Sunday and has already started recruiting for the school.

The addition of Kalis gives the Wolverines 19 commitments in the class of 2012 and their third Top 100 player. He is also the fifth offensive lineman to verbally pledge as Hoke overhauls the offense in Ann Arbor.

Michigan fans actually think Hoke is a top coach.  Wait til september ---- when your below average coach is 2-4 and come back and tell us how he is one of the best in the country.

Amen Brother!!

Brady Hoke is a FAT liar....

I'm told that Kyle Kalis' stepdad just called into WKNR and said that Kyle is being manipulated by Hoke and his dad.

I read very well....thank you very much,OSU is rank in the top[ ten for 2011,UM isn't near the top ten,....that is a fact my friend,if you want to talk about next season being the class of 2012 that class isn't done yet with all the signings and some of those could change by this time next season as you have seen.So it seems to me that it is quite evident that you are the one the doesn't know wht in the hell he is taliking about.

Does running down a new coach really make the average Buckeye feel better.  Brady Hoke is an honest guy who has experience in many conferences and the NCAA.  There is nothing wrong with mentioning the possible outcomes of the NCAA investigation. There is still a possible post season ban for Ohio State and any recruit should know this up front. Buckeye alumni will do anything they can to harm Michigan. Do you remember Drew Henson being bought out by the New York Yankee's to not play at Michigan anymore.  That buckeye Yankee owner offered him a 15 million dollar contract to play minor league baseball as long as he stopped play football at Michigan.  They never ended up paying him 1/3 of that amount of money but they achieved their goal of removing a good quarterback from Michigan.

It is time for everyone to play clean and by the same book. Wining is not everything but how you win is!  I would love to see the B10 ranked above the SEC but I think I would be prouder if we were much cleaner then the SEC.

It is understandable that the kid de-committed.  No one should harbor any ill will towards a 17-18 year old kid for changing his young mind.  What I find unnacceptable is HOKE'S recruiting antics.  He told him that "OSU is going to be hit with a long term post season ban."  (Obviously not the case)  He told him that "next year there will be a new coach and they will have a very difficult time getting someone good there with all the imposed sanctions."  How on earth does this 1st year coach in the Big Ten have inside information on the NCAA investigation, sanctions, and coaching prospects at OSU.  HE DOESN'T!!   Hoke is clearly a LIAR, talking out of his FAT butt.

God, I guess those words are worse than supplying the kid with new cars, dope and unlimited tattoos. Geez your right. Maybe Brady will start more of a "Family Atmosphere"

OSU fans....do us a favor....PLEASE....act like adults...take it on the chin....and accept that your school is going to be down for a bit.  Be adults for the first time in many of your lives.

I'll say OSU has won 9 of the last 10 and the last tackle from St. Eds sucked at OSU.  Kalis will hopefully suck at Michigan.

Typical "loser" OSU fan (since not all OSU fans are losers...just the type who would make a comment like this)

Wishing to see a kid who has his whole life in front of him, fail.  How low of a human being are you...to wish ill will on some kid you never met, never walked a day in his shoes...etc.  You are a joke whoever made this type of comment.

I will take 3 Borens over one Kalis anyday. Go Bucks!

What round was fat Justine drafted?!?! A preseason all-B10 ended up being squat. Its easy to look great next to Jake Long and Adam Kraus. I guess Kyle prefferred a "Family atmosphere"...Just not one where dad gives you an allowance and loans you his car from time to time.

There is so much truth in what you said about the B10 and needing a strong Michigan team once again.  The conference has suffer during the Rich Rod drought. Your insight is, with no better way to say it, much higher than the average buckeye fan.  Now with a strong Nebraska, and good Michigan team adding strength to the B10 , the SEC will no longer dominate the top 20. It is time for Penn State and the rest of the conference to elevate their programs back to were they should be. I hope the NCAA does not do anything long lasting to Ohio Stare because beating a strong team is always better then defeating a wounded team. GO BIG 10 and GO BLUE.
