When Lakewood (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Kalis decommitted from Ohio State following the resignation of Jim Tressel, many pegged archrival Michigan as the odds-on favorite to land the top 100 prospect. Sunday afternoon, Kalis ended speculation and made it public that he will be a Wolverine.

Why Michigan? "The coaches, recruiting class, feeling comfortable," Kalis told 247Sports.com.

The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder is ranked 61st overall in the class of 2012 by MaxPreps and is just the latest addition to an impressive recruiting class by new head coach Brady Hoke. Kalis is the son of former NFL offensive lineman Todd Kalis, who went to school at Arizona State and played for the Vikings, Steelers and Bengals during an eight-year career.

Kalis told MGoBlog.com that he would have committed to Michigan several weeks ago following his first official visit but that his coach told him to wait. Instead, he committed following his second unofficial visit to the school on Sunday and has already started recruiting for the school.

The addition of Kalis gives the Wolverines 19 commitments in the class of 2012 and their third Top 100 player. He is also the fifth offensive lineman to verbally pledge as Hoke overhauls the offense in Ann Arbor.

Michigan fans actually think Hoke is a top coach.  Wait til september ---- when your below average coach is 2-4 and come back and tell us how he is one of the best in the country.

Seriously though, for all you B10 fans with sense. I bleed scarlet and gray don't get me wrong. BUT I want Michigan to be good, kind of tired of hearing about App State loss and really, M has been stinking up the joint. B10 needs great teams again, SEC fans are way out of control, most of them must be really young. I remember when B10 used to be the best conf. year in and out. It is not the same drilling those funny helmets year in and out without it being close. I remember Woody and Bo and I am not cutting on Blue fans. Get better, help the conferance regain credibility. But know this, to those M fans ragging on tOSU, this will not kill tOSU. And yes I believe coaches are saying it will for the sake of snagging 18yo kids for the sake of the program. The Bucks have very good classes to get through and will rebuild momentum after August/Sept announcements. I do not believe there will be a post season ban, maybe lose of a few schollies. To all B10 fans, lets stick together and kick SEC in the mouth.

what will you say about Hoke when hes considered one of the top football coaches in the country??????

That is funny!  You have to be completely out of your mind to think that a 47-50, 4th choice head coach is one of the top coaches in the country.  I've met the man and listen to his knowledge at a dinner.  HE IS WEAK.  His lies are the only reason he has a good class this year.  It certainly is NOT a result of his below average coaching abilities.

Nitro,  you comparing Michigan's football violations to Ohio State's is laughable.  You are right to bring up the basketball violations that Michigan had because that is more in line with what Ohio State is facing now.  As of right now it is not near as severe as Ed Martin.  However, where there is smoke there is fire and we will have to wait and see what else comes out of this.

Laughable?  In what way?  Although both have been deemed as major violations, I never compared the two.  My response was aimed at some pinhead who said "Michigan runs a clean program with high standards".  Clearly that was not the case a year or so ago when Rich-Rod had Michigan's tit in a wringer.  Rich-Rod did not cover up knowledge of players' violations that resulted in playing kids who should have been suspended for 5 games.  But by adding extra practice time and coaching players during periods when that is not allowed, Rich-Rod was cheating too.  The bottom line is both Rich-Rod and Tressel cheated.  I never said one was better or worse than the other.  What I did do is call out one Michigan fan for his blatant hypocrisy and his delusional notion that Michigan is clean.

It is understandable that the kid de-committed.  No one should harbor any ill will towards a 17-18 year old kid for changing his young mind.  What I find unnacceptable is HOKE'S recruiting antics.  He told him that "OSU is going to be hit with a long term post season ban."  (Obviously not the case)  He told him that "next year there will be a new coach and they will have a very difficult time getting someone good there with all the imposed sanctions."  How on earth does this 1st year coach in the Big Ten have inside information on the NCAA investigation, sanctions, and coaching prospects at OSU.  HE DOESN'T!!   Hoke is clearly a LIAR, talking out of his FAT butt.

He is nothing more than a first year LOSER coach (47-50) against average competition.  Telling these kids LIES so that they flip shows the true character in ann arbor.   FACT.

It's very difficult to argue with the typical OSU fan...first they have to get someone to explain all the big words to them.  Then they need someone to constantly wipe their screens off from all the spit that shoots out as they talk and type at the same time.  Very messy and time consuming.
