The Kevin Wilson era at Indiana is off to a wonderful start as it appears that the Hoosiers may have pulled off the biggest recruiting upset in school history. Quarterback Gunner Kiel of Columbus East High School in Indiana has committed to the Hoosiers. Kiel is widely considered to be the top quarterback prospect in the 2012 class, and MaxPreps has him ranked as the second best high schooler in the country.

The 6-foot-4 216-pound quarterback is the nephew of former Notre Dame quarterback Blair Kiel, and Notre Dame was one of many schools that had made a scholarship offer to Kiel. Schools like Alabama, USC, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma just to name a few.

No doubt the idea of working with Kevin Wilson played a large role in Kiel's decision, as he's seen what Wilson was able to do with quarterbacks like Sam Bradford while at Oklahoma. Not to mention that Kiel will have a good chance of being able to play right away at Indiana.

You are a complete Jackass!  You obviously know nothing about college football!  You should not be posting crap like that!  Either get on board...or stand in the tracks!!!  The Hoosier football train is coming.   Basketball is two years away from another banner.  And just so you idiots know what I'm talking about...a banner is a National Championship...not a Big Ten Championship!

@pimpslapped1,
You could not have given a more eloquent description of Bloominton and Indiana University.  In addition to the aforementioned attributes IU has to offer, Gunner's older brother is already on Indiana's football team.  It is great to see a star of his talent go to wonderful university for what it seems for once are the right reasons.  Indiana may not have a strong tradition in football, but you have to start somewhere.  Best of luck Gunner and GO BIG RED!

When Andrew Luck left the state of Texas to play for the Stanford Cardinal, Stanford was a pretty bad program at the time.  Luck blossomed under Jim Harbaugh and the Stanford program took off, culminating with an Orange Bowl trouncing of Virginia Tech last season and a year end #4 ranking.  Because Stanford is such an excellent academic institution, there was probably much less second guessing of Luck's choice at the time than there is of Kiel's choice of Indiana now.  But as Luck showed at Stanford, a great QB can turn a below average progam into a winner, so lets give Kiel the benefit of the doubt and see what he can do at Indiana.
