The Kevin Wilson era at Indiana is off to a wonderful start as it appears that the Hoosiers may have pulled off the biggest recruiting upset in school history. Quarterback Gunner Kiel of Columbus East High School in Indiana has committed to the Hoosiers. Kiel is widely considered to be the top quarterback prospect in the 2012 class, and MaxPreps has him ranked as the second best high schooler in the country.

The 6-foot-4 216-pound quarterback is the nephew of former Notre Dame quarterback Blair Kiel, and Notre Dame was one of many schools that had made a scholarship offer to Kiel. Schools like Alabama, USC, Georgia, Michigan and Oklahoma just to name a few.

No doubt the idea of working with Kevin Wilson played a large role in Kiel's decision, as he's seen what Wilson was able to do with quarterbacks like Sam Bradford while at Oklahoma. Not to mention that Kiel will have a good chance of being able to play right away at Indiana.

Wow!  This is great for the program at IU.  It has been too long since we were able to get really excited about the football program, this just opened the floodgates to good talent coming to Indy.  With a great quarterback, you are going to attract good receivers, and a good running game, and O-linemen that want to play in front of this guy.  I am excited, get excited Hoosier nation, we might be in for a treat with both football and basketball again!  Welcome to Bloomington Kevin, may God bless you with a great career while you are here.

Unreal. I love it. Should be exciting to watch him grow as a NFL hopeful at IU. If they can keep him upright, he will maximize their offense. And yes, he should open the eyes of other recruits. IU played several games last year that they could have won, but a stalled offense couldnt keep up with a below average defense that had to stay on the feild. Things should change.  Go Hoosiers!!!!

Kiel  picked a clean program with top academics.  He wont have to worry about playing for a school that is later put on probation.   Is he enough to make them a winner? Probably not but he could attract other smart recruits.

Game changer!! Add in the JUCO RB they just got Stephen Houston and the WR from last year Shayne Wynn.... IU will become a respectable BIG 10 football program. They are on the right path to becoming another Mich ST, Northwestern, Iowa type team. They can compete (you've seen that the last two years minus the Wisconsin game) and with an influx of better talent and coaching and facilities, they have a real chance to be really good. Go to Rivals and look at their commits this year and last. In 2 - 3 years those guys are going to be more mature and ready to turn it around! GO HOOSIERS!

Kevin Wilson is a good coach. Don't necessarily agree with the Hosiers ripping off the Soonier uniforms but whatever....I hope this kid tears it up in Indy!!

First of all Einstein, it's Hoosiers. Secondly, Indiana University is in Bloomington you jacktard.
