There's raiding a high school for a few recruits and there's raiding an entire state for some recruits. Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones did the latter this past Friday, landing commitments from Southfield (Mich.) defensive back and all-name team member Leviticus Payne, Detroit (Mich.) running back Dennis Norfleet and Grand Blanc (Mich.) linebacker Lester Liston Jr.

"I actually grew up watching them and I thought I would go to that school at a young age and I got an offer at their camp, so I thought it was just meant to be," Payne told Scout of his future school. "I can focus on my season now, go ahead and win that state championship I was talking about."

The 5-foot-8, 175-pound athlete could also see time on offense but the Bearcats already added a dynamic playmaker on that side of the ball in Norfleet. Though he is also on the small side at 5-foot-7, Norfleet is electric in space and has performed well this summer during camps and 7-on-7 competitions.

"The offense was one of the main reasons too, but another reason too is that they didn't go against my size," Norfleet told Scout. "It's not about my size. They said it's not about how big you are. The spread is nice too and that's what I love about it."

With the addition of Liston, the trio gives the Big East school a total of 17 commitments for the class of 2012.
