After a slow start, Oregon has picked things up on the recruiting trail and are starting to match the pace the Ducks offense plays at. The latest player to commit is one from right down the road in Portland (Ore.) linebacker Brett Bafaro, who pulled the trigger Friday morning.
"It feels great, I'm excited," Bafaro told DuckTerritory.com. "My whole family is excited, my friends, my teammates, everybody. I knew I wanted to commit to Oregon and I'm just happy it's official."
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker can play either inside or outside but should fit in well no matter what position given his speed. He committed to Oregon over Washington and the recent pledge from linebacker Bryce Cottrell seemed push his timetable up slightly.
"Yeah that prompted me to go ahead and make my commitment," Bafaro said. "I wanted to take some other visits but I realized I didn't want to miss my chance to play for Oregon."
Bafaro is the second linebacker and 12th commitment overall in the Ducks class of 2012 and figures to be the last at his position.
