Urban Meyer has taken over Ohio State and quickly brought in a defensive line class that rivals any in the country. The latest addition came Sunday with Harrisburg (Pa.) five-star Noah Spence, who committed on his official visit to Columbus on Sunday.

"I am committed to Ohio State and I just decided to do it before the Under-Armour game," Spence told Scout. "I We went into Urban Meyer's office and I said Coach I am done and I want to be a part of the Buckeye Nation. I'd still like to announce on TV where I am going, but I didn't want to wait anymore."

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Spence is ranked as the nation's top defensive end and number three overall prospect by Maxpreps. He held scholarship offers from just about every program from coast-to-coast but the comfort factor with Meyer and Ohio State allowed him to commit while on his visit.

"It feels so great, I am truly blessed," he said. "Feels like I got the monkey off my back and I thank God for being with me every step of the way and for blessing myself and my family."

Spence is the Buckeyes' 19th commitment for the class of 2012 and joins fellow top 100 recruits Se'Von Pittman and Tommy Schutt on the defensive line. He amassed 98 tackles and 12.5 sacks during his senior season and should compete for a starting spot early on at Ohio State.

"He blends great size with speed, quickness, and power," analyst Tom Lemming said of Spence. "He has a keen sense for the football and uses it on every down. Remarkably active with a terrific burst, he's able to rip off blocks with strong hands and tremendous natural strength."

I love hearing from the legal fans when a team has success.  Michigan fans are wetting their pants over commits.  These guys could all be busts.  I doubt it but maybe.  Meanwhile, Buckeye Nation can thank Tattoogate for bring us recruiting success.  Even if we only get to piss off the cry babies from Michigan.

DONT PLAY THE HOLIER THAN THOU GAME ...idiot...and MIchigan didnt pay the Fab Five??  And do you really think Meyer would take this job IF any more serious sanctions were coming?  And you best study up on the USC fiasco comparison --night and day difference--multiple sports(three), estates and BIG $$  for Bush and lack of USCs assistance/cooperation in the FIVE year NCAA investigaton . We fired a coach, suspended players , forfeited an entire season and bowl win and $$ .   You better enjoy your lucky victory cuz it looks like they are gonna be few and far between in the very near future... you just wish YOU had MEYER instead of fat Hoke the joke ---YOUR THIRD CHOICE FOR coach.

booster were they suppose to get in trouble for that they did? Bowl ban etc? Kinda weird that the NCAA was so soft on them. All this has accomplished tell teams they can cheat all they want just fire the head coach as the scape goat. Keep all the pieces in place from the dirty program assitanct etc.  and back to buisness as ushual. I hope Michigan takes notes so the nex time a fab five thing happes they can ractt the way OSU reacted.  Money mouth

Great to see the Buckeyes are right back to cheating and paying players.  Their fans can deny the cesspool that is OSU athletics all you want, but it is a disgrace (and Meyer's record of recruiting criminals at Florida fits in so nicely in Columbus).  USC and OSU have proved that money from cheating wiill go alot farther than NCAA sanctions.

MSU and Mich fans--you seriously need to get educated.   Urban Meyer was born in Ohio and still has family here , coached at Ohio State,  and both he and  his wife are OSU ALUMS.  He has had  stipulated in his contract at other universities his DREAM job was at Ohio State and if that job became available he could leave if he wanted it.  And your  and Florida fans weak attempts to disparage the man need more 'education' as well.  He was conference COACH OF THE YEAR at both  BG and Utah and NATIONAL COACH OF THE YEAR at the Utes where he led them to undefeated season AND A BCS win .  His TWO national titles at UF are well known and I'd bet you werent aware he was selected  SPORTING NEWS and SPORTS ILLUSTRATED  coach of the DECADE.   His recruiting prowess is well known and continues TODAY as evidenced by this topics HEADLINE.    For those who wish he has another heart attack --you are truly sick individuals but then you never probably have NEVER had acid relux  nor the stress of his job. He consulted with MANY  other coaches on his year OFF when on  his ESPN travels to find out how they  balance FAMILY and COACHING duties .  AND just for you SEC fans --he implied in his acceptance speech he didnt  like what was going on in the conference .... and we know he didnt like greyshirting,  nor the many rumors of cheating that have long prevailed in the most penalized conference in the country.  FINALLY-- for all you naysayers.....there isnt a college program in the COUNTRY that wouldnt want URBAN MEYER as their coach....and if you say NO--- well;  youre only kidding yourselves and YOU know it....

I'm not going to get into the whole SEC - Big 10 thing.  Right now they are superior and there is no question about that.  I am hoping that is cyclical and eventually some other conference will rise up.

I am especially happy that the michigan folks are talking a little smack.  That rivalry was getting stale as it wasnt much of a game.  Dont think for a minute that Meyer isn't after Kalis.  Once he steals him back, its on.  Sure there will be talk that Meyer will only last a few years and move on or retire, but in the mean time, the program has a boost and the state of Ohio is loving it.  The cesspool up North can be happy with their nobody coach and just watch the Buckeyes rise again.  I really cant figure why anyone would want to live up there.

If it only lasts a few years, I'll take it.  It has to be better than 2011.

Meyer only takes jobs where the team is loaded from the start so I'll assume OSU has a solid team. Meyer will ride the 4-5 year wave and leave the program in shambles. The losses were piling up at UF with his recruits and he said he was working too hard and had to quit. Beautiful.
