Honolulu (Hawaii) defensive end DeForest Buckner made history Tuesday evening by becoming the first ever commitment to announce at the first ever Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, pledging to Oregon.
"I will be taking my talents to the University of Oregon," Buckner said before the assembled crowd at Bank One Ballpark in Phoenix and on CBS Sports Network nationally.
The 6-foot-7, 238-pounder had offers from most of the Pac-12, including Arizona, Washington and Washington State.
Buckner becomes the 19th commitment for the Ducks class of 2012, committing less than 24 hours after the school won their first Rose Bowl since 1917.
