Given the fact that Urban Meyer spotted programs around the country a few months and still delievered what will likely be a top five recruiting recruiting class in 2012, it's somewhat scary to think what he'll do in 2013. The master recruiter got a off to a great start on Thursday, as one of the top players in the Midwest, Trotwood (Ohio) defensive back Cameron Burrows committed to Ohio State.

"(The hiring of Meyer) helped a lot," Burrows told BuckeyeGrove.com. "Urban is a great man and a great coach."

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Burrows can play multiple positions and picked the Buckeyes over finalists Alabama, LSU, Michigan, Stanford and Wisconsin. Although it's rare for players who are juniors to make commitments this early, the top defensive back wanted to end the process to avoid distractions as recruiting typically picks up after Signing Day.

"I wanted to get it over with before my senior season so I could just focus on the season," Burrows said. "I didn't want to have to worry about recruiting and coaches talking to me and everything. I wanted to focus on my team and on school."

Burrows is not only the Buckeyes' first 2013 commitment but a big recruit to build around. He is a Maxpreps Top Junior and racked up 46 tackles and four interceptions while leading his team to a state title in 2011. He added touchdowns on each side of the ball last season and was an impact player patrolling the secondary for Trootwood-Madison.

"He definitely has what it takes to become an All-American in the class of 2013," analyst Tom Lemming said. "Powerful with great coverage skills, he fills gaps and can turn and run with the best of them. He's active, athletic, and as intense as they come. He needs to get stronger but the rest of his game is already there. He plays big in big games, impresses you with the way he can quickly close on the ball, and has a strong work ethic and leadership skills."

Urban Meyer off and running in 2013 with Burrows

MAGIC--I can only  wonder what it must be like for the other schools in the B1G to see this avalanche of recruits.  Sure, the mess at State College is a major contributor but I imagine we'll start to see complaints and innuendos of illegal recruiting and enticements.

That didn't take long.  Camren Williams a former Penn St commit has informed Meyer and the Buckeyes that he will flip and join OSU!!  I figured once this kid was back on campus with his parents it was over for PSU.  Look for his close friend Armani Reeves to join the OSU class of 2012 as well.

KUBBY--Meyer already has his option QB.  Braxton Miller  was the #1 rated  dual-threat QB last year and at 6'3" and 210 he has the size to do both.  While he  certainly  needs to improve his accuracy --please remember he only started 8 games last year and didnt have our#1 WR (Posey) until the last three games

iwill be rel interested in seeing how urban does. he has done real well everywhere he has been. it all depends on him gettiing tht real good option quarterback. there are always plenty of exceptional defensive payers showing up at ohio state. if meyer can do a better job on offense that his predesseser, ohio sate can be awesome. i would think the parents of the kids he is tying to recruit will want their kids to play for urban. i also think that like me most people feel that he is going to be there a while, this is his last stop. ohio state is the only place that would get him back into coaching. i se them doing well nexr year.

Nice start to the 2013 class for Urban and he Buckeyes!  Cam Burrows is a legit shut down corner and will only get better.  Next up for the 2013 class is Jalin Marshall the electric 5* athlete on Jan 31st.

Also look for 4* LB Cam Williams and 4*DB Armani Reeves to be the next to join this years class for OSU.
