Stanford has been on one of the most successful runs in school history over the past few years and hopes the class of 2012 is able to help things continue. Kansas City (Mo.) defensive tackle Nathaniel Lohn is the latest to join the Cardinal's recruiting class, committing to the program on Friday.

"I just committed to Stanford University," Lohn told "I talked to Coach (David) Shaw, and he said, 'I'm very excited to have you on our team.'"

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound interior presence picked Stanford over Iowa and Kansas State.

"Tough, aggressive, and instinctive, he shows the ability to be productive on running and passing plays," analyst Tom Lemming said of Lohn. "He normally beats the offensive tackle to the punch, can bend off the edge, and shows a decent closing speed."

Lohn latest to join Stanford's growing class

Stanford's 2012 recruit class will probably be top 10 by signing day.  High quality, if not star quality (re: B Sanders), at practically every position with depth to boot.  If they sign 2 of the big 3 (Murphy, Garnett, Peat) plus Shittu?  It might be a top 5 class.  Now if only Shaw could be more aggressive in game situations...  Wink
