USC added a very large man to its offensive line on Monday afternoon.

Five-star, 6-foot-8, 295-pound offensive lineman Zach Banner announced on Monday that he has committed to USC. Obviously, this is big news for the Trojans both literally and figuratively, as Banner is one of the most coveted offensive lineman prospects in the country.

Banner has some impressive bloodlines as well. The Lakewood, Washington product is the biological son of former NFL and Washington offensive tackle Lincoln Kennedy. Needless to say, if Banner can go on to have a career similar to that of his father's, then this will be a fantastic pickup for the Trojans.

According to MaxPreps' Tom Lemming, while Banner may not be the most polished offensive lineman in the 2012 class, he has the most upside.

So?!  The Canes have already enrolled TAYLOR GADBOIS at 6'8" 310lbs. with over a hundred pancake blocks from Dallas Texas.  Gadbois is bigger and better than Banner. Smile

People crack me up when they get pissed when kids do not stay in state or pick another school that they think the kid should go too.  You idiots have to remember these are 17-18 year old kids and do not give a damn what you guys think.....they are choosing a school that best fits their needs.  I've been following Banner since he was a freshman at Lakes and he is a tremendous football player.  I wished he would of went to the University of Washington but you cannot blame him for going to USC.  USC is loaded for next year and is going to play for a National Championship next year and every year.

The team is stocking up for the lean times. With the sophomores coming back from last season, we have to be selective as to who would be recruited and offered a scholarship. We only have 15 per seasons for the next 2 years with variations that could be more or less depending on when a player start class.

We were ranked in the top 5 in the polls depending on the poll you were reading. We are scheduled to be ranked as high as #2 beginning next season and have a shot at the BCS National Championship game depending on how the team play and would not have a let down during the season.

With this recruit we would have a high recruiting class this season. Coach Lane is stock piling for the future.

I think the plan is to recruit for offense one year and defense the following year.

I like the plan.

I am sure everyone thought the program would die with the probation and the reduction in scholarships.

There are some that are now saying we were not penalized enough as the administration and coaching staff have handled the situation very well.

I can not remember another program being placed on probation and immediately after they served t heir probation were competing for the National Championship.
