Nobody in the country is as hot as LSU on the recruiting trail for the class of 2013 and the Tigers added another on Tuesday with the commitment of New Iberia (La.) offensive lineman Josh Boutte.
"I was kind of undecided so I decided to talk with my coaches about it and they told me the pros and cons of being a LSU player and committing early," Boutte told TigerBait.com "They said being recruited early is a big accomplishment. I feel LSU is the best thing for me. I feel I will be a good addition to their program."
The 6-foot-5, 295-pounder did not hold any other offers but was drawing significant interest from major schools across the country. Boutte was named 1st team all-District and to the all-State team last season and appeared to be a priority for head coach Les Miles.
"He told me not to rush into it because being committed to him is basically making a promise," Boutte said. "He said I'm committing to you and I expect you to commit to me. I told him today that I was ready to be a Tiger."
Boutte becomes the fifth commitment in the Tigers' class of 2013 and first offensive lineman. LSU signed four players along the line with the previous class and don't figure on signing too many with the upcoming group.
