2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

ohio bobcats -

Hey there. It's cool, no worries. I just drafted my 2nd team recently and posted it on here, but I forgot to mention that one team owner took Justin Upton #5 overall and it wasn't even a keeper league! Drafts can be crazy because each owner has their own perceived value of a particular player. Dustin dropping that far is wild since he just won the AL MVP in 2008! He should have a good season this year too.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

HollywoodIC-

Back in February when you first posted your team that you drafted, I felt that your team was unrealistic and impossible to draft in the real world. However, last Sunday I was in a draft that was so unbelievable that I had to keep changing my draft strategy not because of who was taken, but because of who was still on the board. Just to give you an example Dustin Pedroia went in round twenty. So let me say sorry I doubted you.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

Thanks for the comment Brad. It was helpful to get your feedback. I will definitely try and trade a few of my OF's for some solid starting pitchers, the tough choice will be deciding which one! As far as which Upton to deal I am guessing you meant B.J., but I will attempt to deal Josh Hamilton before either him or Justin Upton (who happens to be my 2nd favorite player behind Hanley). Thanks again.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

I really like your hitting team and i think you have some strength on your bench with Beckham as he should rebound and have a good year.  Adam Jones is also a good addition as he should improve with Buck Showalter at the helm this year.  My only worries for you are the lack of speed and potential for runs scored, and the SP rotation is a bit thin.  I would definately take a chance and trade from your strengths and pick up a top notch starter and maybe another closer as Nathan's health is questionable.  i would take a chance on Jones and Beckham and offer Kinsler and Upton for more pitching help.  Hope my suggestions help you out...Brad Laughing

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

Yeah David Ortiz is an unknown for sure. I think Carl and Adrian will help relieve the pressure that Big Papi is constantly facing since the departure of Manny. I decided to drop Maybin (for also fearing his possible bust status), and picked up a more proven OF in Colby Rasmus through Free Agency. A team owner is offering Ubaldo for Hitting, I am not sure if I should go after him though, but we'll see. Thanks for the post.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

From the looks of your draft, you appear to have a pretty solid hitting team.  You are real solid at the corners.  I am un-certain what year David Ortiz may start to really show his signs of age.  Keep an eye out for a replacement on him during the year.  I think Maybin may be a bust, he is now on his third organization and now he plays in the ultimate pitchers park.  As for the pitching, for a mixed league, you have a fair amount of young arms with upside, but no true superstar stud starter.  I like Papelbon to get a lot of save opportunities this year.  Best of luck with your team.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

I know the results are totally nuts that's the main reason why I posted my team on here because its unheard of to land those players. Please note that I will be drafting in real competitive money leagues quite soon and will post my team from those leagues too. But until then I'm glad you were able to get a laugh out of my post and thanks for the comment!

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

You should not be playing fantasy baseball against 3 yr olds. Its appearant that u are. Whta other age group lets Evan Longoria go to the 18th pick!! Adrian Gonzalez, now in Bost will have Ryan Howard value- ANY non-retarded fantasy player knows this. He goes in round 3?! And Hamilton, in the 4th round? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. Justin Upton? Not in th efirst 4 rounds. LOL COMICAL.
JOin a real league, with real playrs, and repost a real team. We'll let you know.
Thanks for the laugh.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

It was actually a real draft H2H CBS free league, not a mock draft! That's why I posted the results because I didn't know how I was able to get that lineup. There was 3 active team owners the entire duration of the draft, but 3 others joined later or over the course of selections. The league is 10 teams total. My pitching is suspect, but I also drafted it that way to get a core number of position players to have as trade bait. I'm aware that my staff is comprised of longshots or mediocre 3's and 4's on most people's teams if I'm lucky, but I decided to take chances with my pitching (i.e. - I don't know about Nathan either as he might never return to form.), My main goal was to make sure my lineup was really solid. I recently dropped Maybin this week, and was able to pick up Colby Rasmus, so this must be a beginner's league or something and I didn't realize it when I signed up & joined. Thanks for the comment, I will try and improve my pitching for sure.

2011 Fantasy Baseball Draft

Well, if you can get a team like this in the real world, then hats off to you. However, I do not think you could get Hanley Ramirez, Evan Longoria , Adrian Gonzalez and Josh Hamilton in the first 4 rounds of any real mock draft. Those players would be gone after two rounds. I'm assuming you did an H2H mock on CBS sports...how many stiffs did you have in the draft(robots)? Your pitching staff also is very suspect, starters are very important...you have 7 here, but maybe you should have taken 10 to make up for yourlack of 1 decent starter. Joe Nathan may not be the closer in Minnesota, so although I like the rest of your team, your pitching staff is a wreck.
